President Obama's school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.
The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus.(continued)

I imagine it’s been posted but I was reading tonight and came across an article stating that in certain provinces in Canada they are discontinuing the regular flu shots because it is thought that a regular flu vaccine makes one twice as susceptible to catch swine flu.

Even if they got “injections” on TV you’d never know if they really received the vaccine.

But I guess there’s enough evidence to hold off on the regular one...they’re still going ahead with the H1N1 vaccine though.

My daughters got their flu & pneumonia shots on Tuesday. I found out about Canda’s initial recommendation, so I called the CDC and our asthma doctor.
Everyone I talked to said the order did not matter.

Even if it's not a statistical anomaly, the alleged link is between last year's seasonal shot and novel H1N1. This year's seasonal vaccine has the same H1N1 strain as last year, so anyone who got a flu shot last year has already assumed whatever risk may exist.
Thanks for the info. Looks like they were a little premature...however, the one study talked about the risk of getting H1N1 being increased, and the second study seems to be discussing the “severity” of the flu. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out.
The irony here is the vaccine is being rationed in many areas.

Before the 2004 election there was a “manufactured” flu shot shortage that caused a lot of elderly people to stand in long lines..risking their health. After the election there was a surplus of the vaccine...go figure.
Myself, I'd rather weather an episode of the flu than take and untested vaccine.

I was with my wife at a restaurant a couple of days ago and she sneezed into her hands. I told her Obama wants us to sneeze into our shirts. We laughed.

If they did, who would believe they REALLY were injected with the real vaccine? I wouldn’t.
Regular flu kills thousands each year and nobody addresses it as a pandemic or worries it could mutate into something really bad.
That is BS, bigtime. Their proximity to their mother and father make them a risk.

I got my regular flu shot last week. Get them every year and no problem. This time I’ve felt like I was coming down with flu twice since getting the shot. What’s up with that??? Nothing happened I thought for sure I’d be sick.
But I’m 60 now, time to just take the pill and die, per Dear Leader!
I think winning the Nobel Peace prize makes them immune. This administration is so easy to see through, it’s transparent alright, but not the way Obama thinks it is ...

Gerald Ford certainly did.
There were 200 kids at my son’s high school out with flu, and the kids were all pretty sick (fevers of 103). I’ve never seen that kind of illness rate at their schools.
Also, for kids with neurological conditions like epilepsy (my daughter has it), the death rate is twice that of normal flu.
