Iran's oil minister has warned companies that sell gasoline not to halt deliveries to the Islamic Republic in response to Western sanctions moves, saying they would be dropped from its list of suppliers.
The United States and its European allies are exploring ways of targeting fuel imports into Iran if the country continues to press on with its nuclear program.
"If the suppliers of gasoline avoid exporting it to Iran...they will be eliminated from the National Iranian Oil Company's list of suppliers," business daily "Abrar-e Eqtesadi" quoted Oil Minister Massud Mirkazemi as saying.
Iran, the world's fifth-largest crude oil exporter, lacks refining capacity to meet its domestic fuel needs and has to import up to 40 percent of its gasoline requirements.

Iran is not playing very nice. Maybe they should take their oil and go home before they get their butt kicked.
Achillies heal of a lot of these oil heavy despot regimes - not enough refining capacity. I believe Chavez relies on the US for most of his refining.
totally unrelated...but...customer enters store, asks for a dozen eggs, shop assistant hands them to her, says, ‘that will be two dollars, thanks...’
Customer replies, ‘that’s much too dear, your competitor sells them for a dollar fifty...’
Shop assistant replies...’then why didn’t you buy them there?’

The key for sanctions to work is Russia. Period.
Hit the Iranians where it hurts: oil.
Iran says nuke program was for this very reason. We’re giving them incentives, I guess. </sarc>
This guy really is getting too big for his britches. He really needs to be slapped down several pegs.
