Wesley Pruden: It's a cruel world for Obama
The Washington Times ^ | October 9, 2009 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 10/09/2009 12:40:47 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The cruel world is closing in on Barack Obama. Springfield was never like this. The president can only look back with yearning for the days when he was the star of the state legislature, where a legislator's only concern is who's going to pick up the tab for drinks and supper.

His dithering time in the big new world is limited by events, which occur to a timetable that mere man, even a minor-league messiah, cannot control.

The White House insists that the president is hard at work on what to do about Afghanistan, and whether to send more troops to fuel a "surge" like the surge that prevented a collapse of the West's attempt to rescue Iraq from barbarism and restore a fragile semblance of civilization. The brave young Americans put in harm's way in that godforsaken corner of the world often feel abandoned in a hopeless cause, so the president should feel the pressure to act, and quickly.

But the problem is "multilayered," his spokesman says. Translated into real English, that means "he hasn't yet figured out which layer of public opinion to appease, and which layer to disappoint." He'll do something as soon as he figures out which disappointed layer would squeak loudest and scream longest.

The Pakistanis occupy still another layer. The president is looking for a way to motivate an ally that doesn't want to be motivated. Money is usually the great motivator, and the administration proposes to send the generals who run Pakistan $7.5 billion in aid over the next five years, to, er, ah, ummmm, uh, well, it's not clear what, exactly. They'll think of something. The generals want to make sure the money arrives in Pakistan with no strings attached. It's not as if we're talking about real money.(continued)

Seriously, this is sad fact but true. Guess he never figured the world would be less compliant. Clearly, he has not been told no a lot. OBratty Presidency. World is a tough place, huh, makes you long for America. Wait until the rest of the world is forced to make do without America as well. Between missile shield appeasement and the dollar replacement, this global thing will collapse.

Probably? What ‘probably’? Pick any five average retarded or ‘slow’ people, put their names in a hat, draw one, and you’ve got a much better chance at having honesty, credibility, common sense and fair play occupying the oval office than you do with ostammer.

And that’s the truth, and it’s intended as a compliment to retarded people, not a slam.

Obama’s whole world is built on words. Words for this, words for that. Obama has never actually done anything beyond words. Words are free from the constraints of reality. Words can create any image one wants to paint. Unfortunately words are just words. They do not making something so in the world of flesh and blood. Words don't build bridges. Words don't create new technology. Words don't feed people. Words don't provide health care. Words don't contain tyrants. Words don't stop nuclear weapons from going off in a city filled with real people.

Beyond words, Obama is vacant.

The Olympic fiasco should be a lesson that the rest of the world is still putting their own interests above Obama worship.

And where they much abound,
Fruit of good sense
Is underneath rarely found.

Cleverly spoken words got a small majority of the people to vote for the worst American President in history.

The American people are a lottery! They “believe” in “peace” and “prosperity” from Obama.

Yes, but an Obama booster, uninformed to the core, would immediately discount you as “uncaring”.

The president can only look back with yearning for the days when he was the star of the state legislature,

aarrrrrgh!!! Stop it!
Barry was NEVER 'the star of the state legislature'. He was Back-bencher with NO POWER. In fact he was a Hyde Park outsider and not part of 'the Daley Machine', or 'The Combine'.(1)

When he beat The Machine pick for Senate in the Rat Primary, Dan Hynes, shock waves of disbelief went through City Hall and Springfield. It was only after the IL GOP self destructed before the General Election did The Machine and The Combine really get behind Barry - because then he was the sure winner.

(1) The Hyde Park Liberals (Commies) were always a thorn in Daley's (the Machine) side. Going all the way back to the 'real' Mayor Daley.
