Romney: Party man in Nebraska tonight
CNN ^ | October 9, 2009 | Paul Steinhauser

Mitt Romney is lending a helping hand to Nebraska Republicans, the latest in a string of political favors as the 2008 presidential candidate surveys the 2012 landscape.

The former Massachusetts governor will be the keynote speaker Friday night at the Nebraska Republican Party's biennial Founders' Day event in Omaha.

Romney may make another run at the GOP presidential nomination next cycle, but an adviser says right now the former Massachusetts governor's concentrating on helping fellow Republicans in the next election.

"Gov. Romney is traveling the country, speaking to Republican organizations, raising money for candidates, and doing what he can to strengthen our party going into the 2010 elections," says Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom

What do I get the feeling he won’t get the kind of response Palin did when she made an appearance here in Omaha did last year?

If the people in Mass. elected him(Romney).. one thing is certain..
There is something extremely WRONG about Mitt Romney..
The voters in Mass. DO NOT elect decent people.. EVER...

The RINO Republicans are going to shove this Liberal Rino clown down out throats whether we like it or not.

He did help Michelle Bachmann after the RNC cut off her money during the election for that Islam thing. I think he donated money to her campaign.

I think Mitt is a decent person but he is a RINO.

McCain is NOT a decent person and he is a RINO.

Romney has his warts as a prospective GOP candidate for 2012, but he would have done a better job vs. Obama than McCain did last year.

He would have done better in the GOP primaries - and possibly would have gotten the nomination - if not for the dumb "winner take all" system in some states. The GOP should make changes in the convention delegate selection rules so that a candidate like McCain, with only minority support within the party, can't steal the nomination again.

It's a game to see which RINO will get the nomination. That's real pubbie policy. Did I mention that all but Sarah are owned by the elites. That's why they vilify her so much.

I miss the Mitt worshipers, these threads aren't nearly as much fun as they used to be.

Bleh, they’re fun for the first 5 minutes, but after repetitive worship threads numbering hundreds and thousands of moronic spam posts it gets very old. I have more productive things to do with my time, like smacking my tallywhacker with Zero’s Noble Peas Prize.

Romney can do all the favors he wants, but he will NEVER force the grassroots into his fold.

I agree. I don’t dislike Romney. I just don’t want him as my president.

I agree. Juan McCain was the worst choice. Any of the other Repubs running was better.

Mitt? I think he is a nice guy, good family man, probably even means well but he is a RINO. He would have been 3 times better than McCain but Fred would have been 10 times better.

If it wasn’t for Mitt’s RINO tendencies - like Brando’s Terry Malloy in On The Waterfront - if Mitt was not such a RINO - “He couldda been somebody.”

Sad.
