DOLTON, Ill. (CBS2) A 15-year-old special education student was walking down a hallway at school when he says a police officer grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The teenager says he was beaten and nearly suffocated and much of it was caught on tape.
The teen told his story to CBS 2 Chicago reporter Dave Savini.
Security cameras captured the beating of Marshawn Pitts, who says the officer started shouting and swearing at him because his shirt wasn't tucked in.
"I was tucking my shirt in," Pitts said.
But it's what happened next that had Marshawn Pitts worried for his life. Pitts says the officer came at him suddenly.
"It was just like boom," Pitts said.
He says he was blindsided by the officer, thrown into lockers and struck repeatedly.
In the video, you can see that he gets slammed to the ground and his face smashed into the floor. His nose was broken. Pitts says he was bleeding.
"All this on the outside of my mouth was busted," he said.
He calls this treatment violent and unnecessary, especially considering he was attending the Academy for Learning High School in Dolton for students like him with Special Education needs.
When he was younger, he suffered a brain injury and now has a learning disability. The school for special needs was supposed to help him and understand his situation.
"Yeah, but instead I got beaten on by police," Pitts said.
The officer in question was a Dolton police officer, and the hold he used on Pitts can be a dangerous one.

Sorry, this guy is a creep.
The fact he has had a badge this long is the real crime.
They aren’t giving interviews but “The State Board of Education says no one from the school reported the use of forceful restraint to them. “

If you want to hold on to your personal crap about a brain damaged kid (Also per the article) being at fault here, then my question is reasonable.
Now if you want to reject what the child says about an incident that the cop and school evidently tried to claim didn’t happen before the video leaked, and who are now refusing to talk, go right ahead.
But don’t expect anyone with any decency to follow you down that road.

Man, that guy had a license to kill, not a badge. 24 rounds from one cop? Normally it takes five or six to score that many hits. I wonder how many of them were vertical into a prone helpless victim? No way a guy not on drugs could still be standing after being hit even a few times.

It's really pretty simple -- I will withhold judgment on anybody involved until I hear both sides. I'm sure even you can understand that, Mr. Edd.
The cop appeared totally out of line in handling the punk. OTOH, the punk was totally out of line. This school is probably totally out of control.
Right before the cop attacks the punk, the punk turns his face to him probably saying something that p!ssed off the cop. The punk later says he was tucking in his shirt and was blindsided. The video says otherwise.
OTOH, what if the punk had had a weapon?

The response was not in proportion to the infraction. Anyone that thinks it is needs to have his head examined.
