AP) A group of Navy ships is under quarantine after several dozen sailors and Marines on board tested positive for swine flu.
Health officials say at least 69 people had been confirmed with the virus, and all of them have since recovered.
Navy officials say they are now quarantining an undetermined number of crew members with flulike symptoms on four ships that are part of the USS Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, which arrived in Hawaii on Friday. The ships are docked at or near Pearl Harbor.
Thousands of sailors and Marines from the ships are currently on leave in Hawaii, but Cmdr. Dora Lockwood says no one with flulike symptoms has been allowed to go on shore.
A spokeswoman for the state Health Department says it has been notified of the outbreak.

Hasn’t this story about the USS Boxer been floating around the internet for a month or so and been completely debunked?
We know that those who had the nasal dose had a MUCH higher risk of getting the flu...and those were the first doses out. THIS IS A LIVE VACCINE.
Don't tell me they're not playing games with us.....and someone made a lot of money!!!
Also, this is all about "MANDATORY".
Remember when the cervical cancer thing was supposed to be mandatory in some states. It would have happened except for "PROTEST".
I thought that sailors had to get vaccinated for every possible infectious or communicable disease.
I wouldn’t think this is the entire story. You know how the lame stream media covers up.
Generally speaking they do. But supplies of the vaccine have been short, the H1N1 vaccine has not even been "issued" to the military yet. I work on an Army post, and would generally be vaccinated along with the soldiers, Army civillians and other contractors working in the facilities. Only administraion of the live virus vaccine for the general/seasonal flu has even been scheduled. Unfortunately that can't be used for those of us over 50, nor for the very young either. The H1N1 vaccinations have not even been scheduled yet, but if it is indeed only the live virus, then I would expect the young and old would not be able to get that either.

And I have seen a debunking of it.
They need to report to the caves in pakistan/afghanistan to get their innocilations....
Maybe the debunking I saw was of an expanded story that claimed that there had been deaths from the Flu on the Boxer.
Nevertheless, it’s old news from July 21.

My son was on the USS Boxer until early August when it came into port in San Diego ( I know, I was there to see it with my own eyes). They had SUSPECTED cases, but none were ever diagnosed positive. No one died from it either. The only downside was that the Tiger Cuise was cancelled. The ship is NOT in Hawaii. It is in San Diego being serviced.
There has been a number of reports about the swine flu on this ship and ALL of them are FALSE.

Lotsa luck with that. I guarantee you there will be additional threads about the dead and dying on these same Navy ships. The vaccination hysteria here is a long way from burnout. It’s getting embarrassing.
