Tonight the president will speak at a fundraiser hosted by the Human Rights Campaign. He has been criticized as moving too slowly on campaign pledges on gay issues.
Reporting from Washington - When President Obama speaks to nearly 3,000 gay and lesbian activists tonight, the newest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will have some fence-mending to do.
Obama will address a dinner-fundraiser hosted by the Human Rights Campaign, the country's largest gay rights advocacy group, amid growing concern in the community that he's not acting fast enough on campaign pledges to more fully incorporate gays and lesbians into the fabric of American life.

About 50 gay-rights demonstrators waiting to greet Obama at the Washington convention center before his speech at the Human Rights Campaign dinner tonight.
Chants: “Obama, Obama, let mama marry mama.”
Signs: “A Chicago welcome for Obama: Keep your @#%! Promises!”, “How about the audacity of action Mr. President!”

Yesterday he wins the Nobel Peace Prize.
