eBay.com Rejects U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Science
It has come to our attention that the online auction site eBay has apparently taken it upon itself to enforce its own interpretation of the Endangered Species Act. SCI would like to make you, your friends, chapter members and ALL hunters aware of a policy statement that eBay recently posted in response to a query about auctioning an Idaho governor's wolf tag.
The following email, in which eBay stated it that considers "all wolves within the U.S. as endangered, regardless of their actual designation," came directly from an eBay.com customer representative.

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to listing your charitable item. In general, hunts for non-endangered animal species are permitted on eBay. However, eBay has made the decision to treat all wolves within the U.S. as endangered, regardless of their actual designation. As a result, you will not be able to list your wolf hunt on eBay. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. To find out more about our policy, visit: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/wildlife.html. It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay. Sincerely,
Rolf eBay Customer Support
I’ve taken it upon myself to consider myself a Brigadier General, regardless of my actual status. I wonder when the first paycheck will come in...
Colonel, USAFR
Sounds like PETA has blackmailed eBay.
The way the media makes it out I thought all wolf hunts go through Palin Enterprises, Inc.?
sounds about right,
ebay also thinks sellers have control over pkgs once they are shipped...
When I first read it...I thought Rolf read Wolf...LOL!!
Except they are the 800lb. gorilla....
They totally piss me off about every other month...but I still use them.
I could tell you stories....
I have $100 plus in a holding pattern between an ING account and my Paypal right now — each step will take 10 days or more before all clears an my payment goes through.
Ebay’s innovation for the past few years has been focused on facilitating more and more buyer fraud and countless automated hassles.
Apparently I’ve done something to convince them that a transfer from my checking account is a matter of national security and/or Patriot act.
(I’m buying bowling pins).
I have long advocated re-introducing wolves and grizzly bears to CA. They could absolutely thrive on the clueless liberals that infest that state.
Vampires and werewolves would be good too........
“Vampires and werewolves would be good too........”
The undead don’t cannibalize each other. Professional courtesy. Zombies, and all that...
What about crawling eye's and rabid rats?
They have union rules too?
They could just be taking the safe position. If some wolves are on the endangered list, simply treating all wolves as if they are eliminates mistakes, having to keep up with changes, etc.
They have a history......
Indeed. I tried selling some reloading dies for the "Jap 6.5MM". Got a warning that "Jap" was an offensive word. I changed the ad to read "6.5MM reloading dies for the cartridge used by those wonderful folks who brought you Pearl Harbor and the Bataan Death March, among others."
That was acceptable.
See, was that so hard ?
