The comments at the link are pretty interesting-not the Ain't 0 Great? chit that you'd expect at CNN

Wonder what 0's got up his sleeve here.

Could be a continuation of the Apology Tour, Native Americans need an apology don't they?

Might also fit into his NPP role-extend all of the U.S./Indian peace treaties or something.

Sounds like a cluster-phack to me! 564 tribal representatives? That would be worse than, no it wouldn't. That would be more difficult than having the whole of Congress stop in for a discussion or as is the case here, a pow-wow.

Dear God, I get down on bended knees and beg for you to make it stop.

Please save our Country from this evil man and his cult of followers.

Amen.

That is all for now.

This is what I'd count as the most likely thing.

From what I’ve read about from the occasional conservative voice who’s in a position to know AND from actual conservative injuns like professor David Yeagley, the Native Americans are the most welfare-wrecked people in this country. I’m sure Obama is there to grovel, genuflect and promise them more schwag from the Great White Father.

There are some extremist organizations, but most American Indians are pretty sensible.

I think Obama just feels a need to campaign 24/7, just as bill clinton liked to speak at fund raisers 24/7. Clinton’s primary interest was making money; Obama’s primary interest is to be loved and admired.

If these Indian reservations are “sovereign nations” then how come they are voting for President? All I see is a big scam where sovereign nation status comes in very handy for running mega-profitable casinos

Then you have poor Indian reservations that get every Federal welfare program known to man. How does a sovereign nation manage this?

The Canadian Government is doing the same...

Honestly, if the talks go poorly, what will the natives do, pack up and sail to Europe?

I am sure most tribal councils will be interested in hearing about any good stuff Obama wants to give away to bolster his base. Maybe he can combine elements of his base together in a big parade. The Indians won't be the ones wearing leather, beads and face paint, that would be the gay guys, the Indians will be the embarrassed looking ones in the parade.

Count on a 45 minute speech with thirty minutes of apologies for what Whitey did.
I am so tired of this...

Newspaper Headline

President Obama hosted a major gathering of the American Indian Nation. The President spoke for almost an hour on his future plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living. He referred to his career as a U.S. Senator, how he had said "YES" for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval. Although Obama was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his "red sisters and brothers".

At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the President with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name -"Walking Eagle". The proud President then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds. A news reporter later inquired to the groups chiefs of how they came to select of the new name given to the President. They explained that "Walking Eagle" is a name given to a bird so full of sh$t it can no longer fly!

I hope he learns how to pronounce the names of their tribes. The last time he addressed the Ute tribe, he called them You-tay.

I believe the old saying goes something along the lines of “Our government has promised to take care of indians for 150 years and look where that’s gotten them.”
