Sort of like that time they gave it to Robert Redford ... or was that Kevin Costner ...

“Its like giving an Oscar to a Youtube video.”

It’s unseemly.
It’s like installing a naif as President of the United States.
It’s like electing a post-turtle present only voting socialist-Marxist state Senator to be President of the United States.
It’s like thinking a TOTUS is a POTUS.
It’s like believing that this arrogant little man is capable of respecting of the Foundations of this Nation.
It’s like...

"Its like giving an Oscar to a Youtube video."

Sadly I have seen stuff on youtube that was far and away better than many of the Movies that get the Best Picture Oscar these past few years.

Or, it would be like anointing someone to sainthood in the hope that he would someday perform a miracle.

Or, it would be like anointing someone to sainthood in the hope that he would someday perform a miracle.

That brand of sainthood is still on the table for true BO believers.

The miracle: converting the USA to socialism without a shot. Not likely, but still on the leftist wish list.

I saw this debate when it aired. I thought Hitchens mopped up the floor with the Air America guy, and with Chris “I get a tingle in my leg” Mathews. They just can’t stand it if so much as one person in the whole friggin’ world doesn’t worship their god-king.

You see, the alternative was to give it to a guy who did hard time in a Chinese prison.

That would have taken some grit.

Any discussion of the merits, if any, of this action by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee is beside the point. The Nobel Peace Prize Committee is a creature of the Norwegian Parliament, and does not answer to me. But under Article 1 Section 9 of the Constitution

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state
no US official has the authority to accept either the million bucks or even the honor associated with the Nobel Peace Prize without a specific act of Congress.

I guess you could argue that it really doesn't matter if Mr. Obama accepts the prize, if you think that he is not a natural born citizen and therefore isn't even president . . .
