Christopher Hitchens: 'It would be like giving someone an Oscar in the hope that he would someday make a good motion picture'
In his unique and witty style Vanity Fair Columnist Christopher Hitchens drives Hardball's Chris Matthews crazy as they discuss the legitimacy of Barack Obama winning the Noble Peace Prize.
This link takes you to the article as well as the video of Christopher Hitchens on Hardball.

Its like giving an Oscar to a Youtube video.
Sort of like that time they gave it to Robert Redford ... or was that Kevin Costner ...
Is this one right now? Or another day?
Please dont give the idiot Hollywood jerks any ideas.
It's a very short trip for Chris.
Like giving Yoko Ono a Grammy for Album of the year.
“Its like giving an Oscar to a Youtube video.”
It’s unseemly.
It’s like installing a naif as President of the United States.
It’s like electing a post-turtle present only voting socialist-Marxist state Senator to be President of the United States.
It’s like thinking a TOTUS is a POTUS.
It’s like believing that this arrogant little man is capable of respecting of the Foundations of this Nation.
It’s like...
Matthews is such an insufferable blowhard.....He keeps talking over his guest.....I cannot watch the a%%hole!
CH, my favorite atheist!
Sadly I have seen stuff on youtube that was far and away better than many of the Movies that get the Best Picture Oscar these past few years.
Or, it would be like anointing someone to sainthood in the hope that he would someday perform a miracle.
Ever seen the “greatest fan film” ever? Its basically Batman vs Predator
Or, it would be like anointing someone to sainthood in the hope that he would someday perform a miracle.
That brand of sainthood is still on the table for true BO believers.
The miracle: converting the USA to socialism without a shot. Not likely, but still on the leftist wish list.
I saw this debate when it aired. I thought Hitchens mopped up the floor with the Air America guy, and with Chris “I get a tingle in my leg” Mathews. They just can’t stand it if so much as one person in the whole friggin’ world doesn’t worship their god-king.
You see, the alternative was to give it to a guy who did hard time in a Chinese prison.
That would have taken some grit.
Noble Prize is nuthin. This week Resident Golden Calf will win the World Series.
Very series.
‘It would be like giving someone an Oscar in the hope that he would someday make a good motion picture’
That is EXACTLY what I said last night.
Since when is Christopher Hitchens on the Right?? The guy is a Socialist who happens to notice the obvious.
Pray for America
Any discussion of the merits, if any, of this action by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee is beside the point. The Nobel Peace Prize Committee is a creature of the Norwegian Parliament, and does not answer to me. But under Article 1 Section 9 of the Constitution
No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign stateno US official has the authority to accept either the million bucks or even the honor associated with the Nobel Peace Prize without a specific act of Congress.I guess you could argue that it really doesn't matter if Mr. Obama accepts the prize, if you think that he is not a natural born citizen and therefore isn't even president . . .
Obama throws first pitch of the Baseball Season, wins 2009 World Series.
