I have often said that every seat-back pocket should have a couple of these -- and their use should be taught during the seat-belt lecture:

For this sort of disturbance, constraining the wacko's hands and feet should suffice.

For a serious terrorist threat, it should be, "What's that you say, Achmed? The one around your neck is too tight? Sorry, they only tighten -- see?" '-)

That was about the least informative article I’ve ever read.

Agreed. But you have to understand their agenda.

Yep, the AP and AJC were too quick to spotlight the Bible passages and never mentioned the unlawful detention of a helpless female seatmate by an unbalanced nutcase. I don’t blame PAR35.

What agenda. You distorted the story. You have the agenda.

Where did you find that? If he would not let passengers out to use the bathroom while the seatbelt light was on, he might have been obeying the rules.

Uh, it was in the last paragraph and quoted the airline rep as saying they didn't have any knowledge of it.

Unruly could be a lot of things. I would hate to be called unruly because I chose to share a passage or two with a seatmate. There’s a difference between that and taking a poor lady hostage in her seat!!

That’s what made it postworthy.

A guy arrested for quoting the Bible? What message is the newspaper trying to send?

The folks who are attacking the excerpt and summary?

I wonder about their agenda as well.

Give it a rest.

He was arrested for being unruly. You clipped the story and then ‘summarized’ that he was arrested for quoting the bible. Give it a rest and admit you bent the truth to your agenda.

I guess anyone that prefers the truth would make you wonder. You should try telling the truth sometime.

Aw, you give it a rest. What is “unruly”? This could have been overreaction by airline personnel following an unreasonable protest by another passenger. Now we know he really was unruly, but PAR35 was right to think the AP story smelled funny.

Quoting the Bible is the only specific conduct given in the story. Sorry that you are having problems with reading comprehension.

What about if someone was quoting from the Torah, or the Koran?

What about if that someone was trying to bite another passenger?

I fly quite a bit. If somebody needs to use the restroom, it's not my place to police them. Rules be damned. It's on the individual. I'm leaving it up to the flight crew.
