French Vogue has gotten into some more haute controversy.

This month's issue of the fashion magazine features a photoshoot with white supermodel Lara Stone in blackface, according to Jezebel.com.

No stranger to shocking shoots — it recently featured a faux-pregnant model smoking a cigarette— the magazine enlisted photographer Steven Klein to shoot the 14-page spread, styled by editor Carine Rotifeld.

The story that goes along with the photos praises Stone for her "radical break with the wave of anorexic models."

But the fashion world isn't alone in the blackface controversy.

A recent episode of "Mad Men" set in the 1960's — found Roger Sterling (played by John Slattery) hosting a party and entertaining in black face.

And last week, Harry Connick Jr. slammed contestants on an Australian variety show who performed a Jackson Five song in blackface.

As a judge, Connick Jr. gave the group a zero score. The show later apologized for the skit.

If Oprah was white she would look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show.

Unattractive no matter what shade she is.

LOL Your so right.

In the white hue she looks like a dyke (is that term ok or is it insisitive to gay women?)

Grace Jones was controversial at one time..the caged black woman, the nakedness. Someone might comment Jones was once painted "white", but it was Haring's "black and white" zebra stripes for a better description.

Now, you have "big lips" as sexy; with white women all over the world getting "pumped up". (Jolie maybe an exception/inspiration)

Beauty is, of course, in all & both in black and white, etc..

With Stone via photo above you have a wig that seems most Martha Washingtonesque or Colonialist. No comment there?

Hip Hop clothing was copied by white kids & their parents all over America down to toddlers.

Men dress as women, women dress as men.

But, the racism card is such such an easy card to use..

I guess many who cry racist, I feel are probably closet racists themselves, perhaps unintentional (better not to dig the hole any deeper); as Harry Connick, Jr said recently (similar words)as a talent show down under; we have tried to keep blacks from appearing as "buffoons". Odd comment: "Buffoons" and the "We" word seems like "savior" of the "weak" or the "week"?.

News: Much about nothing. Definitely not racist, just is appearing from the liberal side of the "cup"...the TV/arts/ entertainment factor.

Fashion week in Paris is suppose to inspire, be creative and shock. Leaves everyone all a-titter.

Those two pictures are really atrocious.

I bet she looks just fine, “white”, without the heroin-addicted zombie makeup.

If you see this as racism, YOU are a racist. This was a tanning bed accident.

Get over it.

Now, go collect your freakin’ check.

The accusation of racism is so overused and tired, people don’t even know what real racism is anymore. In America’s two-party system, one party wishes to see blacks treated as equals (meaning that the government neither discriminates against nor shows favoritism to them) while the other party views blacks as a race of babies who require “special help” from the government at every point in their lives. It’s remarkable that Democrats have earned the undying group loyalty of black Americans when everything Dems do or say reveals that their attitude towards blacks assumes some kind of black inferiority.

It seems to me that gay men in the “fashion” industry intentionally make these women look ugly to justify their gayness. The sad thing is, insecure women, then think this is what men want. She looks like she just came out of Auschwitz without the black face on.

At least Pat Paulson was funny when he wore black face.

‘She looks like she just came out of Auschwitz without the black face on.’

I’d be willing to take her in and see that she’s fed....

“... that gay men in the “fashion” industry intentionally make these women look ugly to justify their gayness.”

I have thought this for some time about women’s fashion in general. The ‘slut clothes’ for teens to very young girls is NOT an accident. It is more than to make the fashion models ‘ugly’. It is to make EVERYTHING to be about sex. Toddlers to teens.

Revolting.

She’d look great if she’d get some hair and lose the Klaus Nomi/Nosferatu makeup.

If liberal, she is just trying to make a profound statement about the plight of blacks in the KKK of A! If she is a conservative, she’s racist swine that should never receive another modeling job again.
