Sources: Checketts to drop Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

Three-quarters of the league's 32 owners would have to approve any sale to Limbaugh and his group. Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay predicted that Limbaugh's potential bid would be met by significant opposition. Several players have also voiced their displeasure with Limbaugh's potential ownership position, and NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith, who is black, urged players to speak out against Limbaugh's bid.

Ultimately, the sources said, Checketts must reconfigure his group and find another investor to make his bid more viable.

Exactly when Limbaugh will be dropped is uncertain, though some familiar with the situation said it could be within the next week. It is unclear if the two sides even have spoken.

If the left gets their way we will be denied healthcare and they’d have veto power over everything.

Why didn’t Rush just set up some kind of Foundation or Corporation to do this? From the beginning I thought this was a bad idea.

Yeah, it is pretty sick you can’t invest if you are a Conservative but his name is huge. Unless he wanted bragging rights, why didn’t he just invest as a true silent partner? He gets box tickets anyway with no complaints, so what if it came out later he was one of the partners.

Doing this was like throwing bloody chum into a barracuda feast.

My 2 cents.

He’ll let Limbaugh back in after the fact, quietly.

I hope Rush sues the heck out of all the slanderers.

Me too! Sue their A$$es off! Then donate the money to Sarah PAC...then watch their heads explode!

But it’s okay if the so-called president makes a racially charged statement. They chug down a few beers and all is well. Limbaugh, on the other hand, loses a multi-million dollar deal because of unfounded and unsourced accusations. Take names and sue the heck out of them Rush!

Sorry, but I don’t buy this story. Rush, and partners, anticipated the flash this would cause, so to say Rush is being dropped sounds a bit suspect. I will believe it when Rush says it is true. And, to add, if Rush backs out now he is defeated in any endeavor he tries in the future.

It’s a damned shame when a pack of liberal leaning leftist butt heads can throw a man out of the bidding because they dont like his politics or because a pack of black racists complain.

Well, looks like liberal propaganda works. Rush is out of the NFL deal. Lies knowingly passed on by our “trusted” MSM worked.

We have enemies in high places people and to most of the people in the real world, getting along every day is what matters most to them.

Sadly, I knew this was going to happen. Our political opponents are completely intolerant.

Conservatives are not welcome to be owners. Are they welcome to be fans?

Guess it’s official now - the NFL is a racist organization.

Don't these other team owners realize that Rush Limbaugh is popular because people, their existing fans, are who contribute to Rush being a household name?
They make it seem like an audience is a nameless and faceless entity. An audience is comprised of all of our friends, neighbors, coworkers, clients, students, teachers, church friends, and teammates.
