NAIROBI, Kenya – Parents in some of Africa's poorest countries are cutting back on school, clothes and basic medical care just to give their children a meal once a day, experts say. Still, it is not enough.

A record 1 billion people worldwide are hungry and a new report says the number will increase if governments do not spend more on agriculture. According to the U.N. food agency, which issued the report, 30 countries now require emergency aid, including 20 in Africa.

The trend continues despite a goal set by world leaders nine years ago to cut the number of hungry people in half by 2015.

After 64 years of this type of failure, it is time to put the bunch at the UN on the unemployed list and send them packing.

Nope....I’m not spending one penny on any of this.

Let them fight to get rid of the authoritarian despots who rule these third world crap-holes. If they want guns and ammo, we can talk, but no more “ humanitarian aid”, which inevitable gets diverted to the despots military and their private accounts in Zurich.

“Sounds to me like the UN is admitting to being a massive failure.”

No, it’s because of the private ownership of firearms in the U.S...we should send even more aid rather than spend money on firearms and ammunition...’cause if they are failing, it might mean they are wrong on their position in opposition to our freedom too.

Take our freedom away along with even more of our money and starving people will still proliferate. Maybe we should slip contraceptive hormones into the food we send, like PETA and the likes want us to do with our deer population rather than shoot and eat...or is that a politically incorrect joke?

Not as long as there is an ounce of self promoting political gain to be had by a single politician in Washington will that ever come about.

Only a true devotion for the American way by elected lawmakers will make this scenario come about.

"A record 1 billion people worldwide are hungry and a new report says the number will increase if governments do not spend more on agriculture."

Well, if the business-government gangs would allow us to build on our own properties and grow food, there wouldn't be a problem with hunger. But they keep passing laws against the property rights of working class people.

But as a percentage of the world's population and in comparison to what the lot has been of much of the world's population throughout human history, the world is better off than it ever was (and if the environmentalist genocide movement had not gotten DDT banned it would have been even better). Of course, after Algore's minions are finished with it, the world is going to be one sorry place.

Yeah, that's what most of the Malthusians want along with telling them to eat raw/rotting food, avoid vaccinations, and so on. But whatever you do, don't tell them to get out of those service slavery jobs and welfare to move their monstrous behinds around a little.

Intensive exercise regulates appetites to healthier levels. Staying in their marriages, avoiding television, and helping their families to build homes would help much.

If the thus in charge of the countries would let the food in instead of selling the food to buy guns and stick the money in swiss accounts the pople would have food to eat. It is the thug leaderships of these countries.

No, they need their European colonists back to straighten matters out. Not much famine or mass slaughter took place then.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Imagine if we stopped sending money to Africa?,
they would accuse us of Genocide. Of course that's just a straw-man argument
but not far from what would actually happen.

Gee, and look who’s running those countries. There’s plenty of land and food to go around. It’s Godless societies, corruption, ignorance and greed that causes people to live in poverty and starve.

Isn’t Kenya the country that has been killing and throwing white farmers off there land and then confiscating the farms?

A record 1 billion people worldwide are hungry and a new report says the number will increase if governments do not spend more on agriculture abandon their idiotic socialist economies and allow free-market capitalism to flourish.

That makes more sense.

No, at least not recently. It's Zimbabwe, under the marxist dictator Robert Mmugabe.

I thank God every day that I live in the greatest country in the history of the planet Earth....

Our biggest problem is that the poor have too much to eat. They suffer from obesity and their kids are traumatized so they suffer from anorexia.

A problem people in other parts of the world would love to have.

The evil corporate greedy bastards at McDonalds and Burger King who gave Americans cheap fast food because it was what they wanted should be rounded up before a Congressional hearing.

McSludge and Burger Thing and their PR folks will offer free food but the utopian leftist libs will turn it down. No nutritional value to the fries.

Afterwards, those same congress critters and social engineers will be mugged and pistol whipped by some hungry Ethiopians for their Big Mac.

What a great country America is! I love this country!!!!!
