Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Robert F. McDonnell's most prized supporter was by his side Tuesday for an appearance before a women's group in Northern Virginia.
Billionaire BET Networks co-founder Sheila Johnson attended a Women for McDonnell event in Tysons Corner, delivering a scripted speech to a crowd of about 100 and a handful of reporters.
The longtime Democrat who campaigned for President Obama and Gov. Tim Kaine crossed the aisle earlier this year to support Mr. McDonnell.
"Bob's message resonated with me from the moment I met with him," Ms. Johnson said. "For me, it isn't about party. It's about policy and the person."

Bob McDonnell reached out to women Tuesday as polls suggest female voters -- a constituency that once appeared to be tilting away from the Republican gubernatorial candidate -- are now split between the Republican and Democratic tickets.
McDonnell held a campaign rally in Vienna with Sheila Johnson, the multimillionaire BET co-founder and longtime Democratic supporter, appealing directly to potential crossover voters in Northern Virginia.
Shelia Johnson is a class act who now realizes the disaster that Obozo is. What she did takes courage.
May she bring a few hundred thousand (or million) like-minded, independent thinkers with her.
Vietnamese American National Chamber of Commerce Endorses Bob McDonnell for Governor
Latest Business Organization to Back McDonnell
Joins The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Businesses, Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, Virginia Realtors, Virginia Credit Unions, the Virginia Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors and The Northern Virginia Technology Council
FALLS CHURCH- The Vietnamese American National Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Bob McDonnell in the 2009 Virginia gubernatorial race. In the groups official endorsement letter they note:
In this election, we took a hard look at the outreach efforts that each gubernatorial candidate has made to our community and we looked at the candidates policy proposals on the economy, transportation and taxes.
My. McDonnell has gone to great lengths to reach out to various new American communities, particularly the Asian American communities. His outreach efforts have been impressive and substantive. We have seen McDonnell campaign materials in Vietnamese and other ethnic languages, he has made several visits to Vietnamese American businesses to listen to their concerns and he has attended many events hosted by the Vietnamese community in Virginia.

She have a website? I’d love to send her a note of thanks and appreciation.
Her Wikipedia page may offer a suggested point of contact.

Thanks!
She has quite a resume. I had no idea until I read the Wikipedia page.
She has always impressed me. The only time I was really disappointed was when she endorsed Obama, but then she had an excellent point that McCain was lame.
The campaign just released this new ad “Sheila”

That’s fantastic. I wish all his ads were like this.
There is one ad on the radio where the narrator says “Creigh Deeds” this and that and he says Deeds’ name about 15 times. Honestly, it is really pushing the Deeds although it is supposed to be criticizing Deeds. You actually don’t hear Bob’s name until the very end.
Sometimes I think our publicity “experts” are secretly working for the opposition.
Very nice ad. I hope it airs widely in Hampton, northern Virginia, and Richmond.
