On September 10th of this year the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) posted a press release informing the world that from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows [will] spotlight the power and personal benefits of service, and that this unprecedented block of TV programming is the first wave of a multi-year I Participate campaign.

...guess I’ll be watching reruns of Married with Children
It’s like living in a dystopian novel. Our fearless leader appears before us daily, instructing us in how we must think.
Ping
I would, but.....I don’t have a TV.
Put it out on the curb in 1998 when I
discovered FreeRepublic.
Put a sign on it, “good TV” and it didn’t
sit there 10 minutes before some poor
addicted fool picked it up.
Said it before, we’re living in a creepy hybrid of 1984 and Atlas Shrugged
“....October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows...”
I stopped watching network TV years ago. ABCNBCCBS, collectively know as DNC TV, are too political and too much to the left for me.
Don’t think so. Satellite and a remote, ftw.
I will likely have the TV turned off, to avoid the too often heard and seen ideas and voice of the ONE.
How is a “press release” a “leak?” I always thought of a leak as something officially unauthorized that goes through back channels.
Norman Lear ruined television with “All In The Family.” It’s been downhill since then...
I think I’d rather be watching reruns of “The Gong Show” than this indoctrination drivel from the 0bamunists.
we are becoming North Korea with indoor plumbing and better diets
You WILL participate, or you will be taxed
You WILL.. ahh nevermind.
Who the heck still watches network TV?
Produced by Norman Lear and based on the British television series Till Death Us Do Part[2], the show broke ground in its depiction of issues previously considered unsuitable for U.S. network television comedy, such as racism, homosexuality, women's liberation, rape, miscarriage, breast cancer, menopause and impotence.
‘I think Id rather be watching reruns of The Gong Show than this indoctrination drivel from the 0bamunists.’
We need a “Gong” show for our congress critters.
I love good TV and hate the bad.
I watch mostly educational shows on the History, Discovery, and Science channels along with the military channel (great stuff on ‘tet in 1968’ and my favorite....warbirds).
occasionaly I will watch an old movie.....
and the Fox News Channel...as flawed as it is, is head and shoulders over the rest.
Nothing wrong with GOOD TV. bad TV does bite the big one.
My God, what next?????
Welcome to the land of Hugo Chavez
FOX never looked Better
Good question.
However, I did see a commercial last night from Disney, which is giving out a 1-day pass for 1 day of volunteer service, IIRC. I wondered about the connection at that time.
Nothing is as it was for you, Winston.
The last time I saw American TV was in December 2004.
Got rid of mine 6 years ago. Never looked back. My eleven year old doesn’t even ask about it. We have plenty of better things to keep us busy.
Makes me glad I don’t subscribe to cable or satellite, and just watch DVD’s. I’d hate to be PAYING to watch propaganda!!
I want this Communist SOB OUT of my face.
Go away Obozo. You are flappy earred menace.
The 3rd game of the American league playoffs is Monday October 19 on Fox. Is mugabe going to pre-empt the best baseball games of the year? This is getting sicker and sicker by the day.
haven’t watched a TV Show since 1990, or Network News since 1996. The only channel on my TV is FOX News.
This crap works with uneducated shoeless Kenyans, as Hugo Chavez is showing not so much with Venezuelans.
In America it’s just laughter to see a Kenyan try to teach communism to educated people. Sure the ‘free suckers’ crowd will bite on anything with ‘free’ but people know.
Can he fly with his giant ears?
I have two TIVOs, so who cares ... scroll on by.
Barracky Hussein Obama -— mmmmm, mmmm, mmmm __ pht.
No TV here. Youtube is great. I recently watched the chariot race from Ben Hur, incredible. I only wish I knew how to make it full-monitor.
Also on YT I watch Fred and Ginger dance, and the Mongolians hunting wolves with golden eagles.
this is for a little relaxation, as I work at home on the computer.
I guess this matters - I watch two shows on TV weekly - I wont watch Hussein on TV or listen to him on the radio.
Let these guys go out of business. Stop pandering to shows because you don’t have anything better to do. While I’m on this rant - Get the kids off the couch and outside where they will think of something to do - not only will it be good for them but it will keep them from being indoctrinated with all the latest liberal lamestreem ideas.
Teach them to read. It opens up a whole new world!
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book. -Groucho Marx
We don’t have direct tv either. Never felt that the price was worth it.
I don’t watch TV except for Maverick reruns & an occasional hockey game.

Click the little button at the lower right corner of the video player window.
“wish I knew how to make it full-monitor.”
I believe all or nearly all youtube can be made full screen by clicking onto the rectangle that has the upper right quadrant in white (it is at the lower right corner of the actual viewing window)....after watching, press esc on your keyboard to go back to normal
this one works as described:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXxMKVlhOcY
yeah, except....nobody is watching network television shows anymore...so the joke’s on you Barry!
“upper right quadrant” should read upper LEFT quadrant, sorry
Thanks all, for the full-screen tip. Now i am going to go back and watch the chariot race all over again.
You make it full monitor by clicking on the full screen symbol, looks like a square. Usually on the right side of the video when your cursor is on it.
I had to deselect “hardware acceleration” in my system to do it.
Disney...GAY DISNEY has started already.....volunteer and then you can get a free day at Disney!
Thanks.
I am very unhappy with the digital crap.
Yeah, alright, the pic is better. Yeah, my machine, if I move it around and do channel inventory gives me 27-29 channels.
If a freakin gnat sneezes outside, it all goes to hell...
and I get nuthin.
But really, there’s no indoctrination going on, that’s just crazy-talk. [/s]
More kale, dear?
*LOL*
...no comment from PETA yet even though I sent them the clip...*grins*
