Stopping The Rush (Limbaugh)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | October 15, 2009 | IBD staff

Media Bias: Not long after pro football welcomed a convicted felon back on the playing field, Rush Limbaugh is dropped for his opinions from a group seeking to buy an NFL franchise. Won't someone throw a flag?

When even Keith Olbermann says back off, you know the politically correct critics of the conservative icon and megaradio talk host's proposed part ownership of the St. Louis Rams are guilty of piling on.

The prospect of the leading conservative voice in America participating in the purchase of a football team sent the liberal elites into cardiac arrest and into a frenzied campaign once known as the politics of personal destruction.

The NFL has made it clear that they do not want the participation of conservatives in their league.

Very well, NFL. Your wish is granted, as far as this Conservative is concerned.

I wish conservatives would ban together just once and make a difference as we should be able too. We can turn off NFL and the advertisers and make a difference.

MSN’s article about this never once mentioned that the statements attributed to Rush were fabrications, only that he claims they are. They also didn’t mention the dubious sorce. No bias there.....

Boycott anything having to do with the NFL, including their advertisers.

Rather than boycott, I think Rush should do the exact opposite.

Given all the NFL games that are not sold out leading to local “Black-outs”, Rush should make a call out to his listeners/supporters to sell out those games. This would show how much support Rush has, and what an opportunity the NFL has missed.

"Except there's no evidence Limbaugh said any such thing."

" These fabricated quotes designed to slime a prominent conservative pundit deserve condemnation at least as fierce as those directed at the McNabb comments. Perhaps these guys should do less "fact checking" on "Saturday Night Live" skits and more on what they call news. Perhaps somebody should even be fired."

The good side of that is it would show how much power Rush has. The bad part, though, is it would be putting more cash in the pocket of the NFL which they absolutely don’t deserve.

I would like to see Rush personalize and isolate a target on the left, then take it down hard. If Beck did it, Rush can...but a much bigger target. That would be sweet.

I'm with you. F the NFL. I called
1-212-450-2000

and let them know I will no longer watch the games, buy tickets or support the sponsors. And then I cancelled my DIRECTV NFL package. Screw 'em.

So I guess that the NFL does not need or want conservative fans cheering, supporting, and paying for stadium seats to watch their favorite NFL Teams and the same with their televised advertisers?

Limbaugh’s critics lied, and the NFL took their side. If they don’t want conservatives, then I guess they don’t want conservative dollars, either.

Break your NFL addiction. You’ll probably feel better.

He is not a racist, and neither are his 20 million listeners.

Not according to Michael Wilbon, Washington Post Sports Columnist.

"Limbaugh's Message Made Him Rich -- And Cost Him"

...I don't listen to his show because his comments about people of color anger and offend me, and I'm not easily offended. I'm not going to try and give specific examples of things he has said over the years; I screwed up already doing that, repeating a quote attributed to Limbaugh (about slavery) that he has told me he simply did not say and does not reflect his feelings. I take him at his word.

But Limbaugh has long history of the same insults and race baiting, to the point of declaring he hoped the president of the United States, a black man, fails. I never understood why someone with Limbaugh's gift for communication was so nasty and, in my opinion, gave cover to bigots everywhere under the guise of conservatism. Clearly I'm not alone.

Wilbon apparently believes that if Rush weren't such a racist, he would want Obama to succeed brilliantly -- at transforming the United States into a socialist quagmire. What other reason besides racism could there be to oppose socialism?

I especially liked the "I'm not going to try and give specific examples of things he has said over the years," which translates to "I'm not going to provide any evidence supporting my slander, because there is none."

How should one respond to this level of malignant idiocy?

Did you know that in Nazi Germany you couldn’t get promoted unless you were a member of the Nazi party? It’s starting to look that way in the US....

My fellow Patriots and YHOS, I have to tell you that this whole NFL is a bunch of crap. I made a vow last year to turn the TV off and not watch another professional football game again. It is such a wonderful feeling to not waste days watching the trash NFL offers. It is great to be able to work on the weekends or spend the time with my wife. Sports, when you actually think of it, is so minute and to give it up is wonderful.

Don’t kid yourself; the NFL would see those suddenly sold out games as an ENDORSEMENT of their blackballing Rush, and the presstitutes would shout it from the rooftops!

NEW YORK — Michael Vick is back with Nike two years after the company severed ties over the quarterback’s involvement in a dogfighting ring.

“Mike has a long-standing, great relationship with Nike, and he looks forward to continuing that relationship,” his agent, Joel Segal, said Wednesday.

Segal would not reveal terms of the agreement. Nike, however, denied it had signed Vick to a sponsorship contract in a statement released to CNBC.

“Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick,” Nike spokesman Kejuan Wilkins said in the statement to CNBC. “We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike.”
