If she is smart, she can turn all this to her advantage. She knows the final Senate bill (even before Senate - House reconciliation bill) will look nothing like the one that was “carefully crafted” to get her vote.
Now that she voted yes, and Obama thanked her, she has a perfect opportunity to vote against any changes to the bill she “agreed to” and join filibuster, i.e. “voting against new bill after voting for the old bill”.
If she is smart, that is...
She’ll vote for the final bill, regardless of what’s in it.
Take that to the bank.
All it will take is an another $20 million for Humvee maintenance for the Army National Guard in Maine, and she's bought.
