Anita Dunn Speech At HS Graduation Praising Chairman Mao - Location of Speech and School ID'd

When I watched this video today on Glenn Beck's show, I was most disgusted to see that she was praising Mao from what appeared to be a pulpit of a church; and I wanted to find out where this event took place.

So, after I cleared away supper debris and got the kids in bed, I spent my evening Googling; and I found what I was looking for.

Ms. Anita Dunn was the commencement speaker for the 2009 St. Andrews Episcopal School (Potomac, MD) graduating class. From that link, it appears that Ms. Dunn has a child who attends the exclusive school.

The graduation ceremony was held June 5, 2009, at the Washington National Cathedral. Both links identify the date and location; the first link shows Ms. Dunn was the commencement speaker.

Praising a communist murderer of his own people at Washington National Cathedral. To a bunch of high school kids. From an Obama Administration insider. Lovely.

This story about Dunn's feelings for Mao may (or may not) become a liability; so I have saved the webpages to my computer, in case they disappear over the coming days.

Will Dunn fit under Obama's bus?

She is married to the President’s personal lawyer, Robert Bauer, a partner at Perkins Coie who has been the general counsel of Obama for America since January 2007. They reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Newsweek named Dunn and Bauer the new “power couple” in Washington, D.C. in 2008.[6]

"...Trinity's own Roman-like architecture is unfamiliar for a church, which might explain why some outsiders found it cultish and strange. The congregation meets in a theater-in-the round, designed after secular buildings like the Parthenon and the U.S. Congress. Stained-glass windows flanking the entrance feature images of African-American leaders, not saints: W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. There is also a glass sculpture of a man resembling Obama.

DU BOIS ON STALIN:

...Joseph Stalin was a great man; few other men of the 20th century approach his stature. He was simple, calm and courageous. He seldom lost his poise; pondered his problems slowly, made his decisions clearly and firmly; never yielded to ostentation nor coyly refrained from holding his rightful place with dignity. He was the son of a serf but stood calmly before the great without hesitation or nerves. But also - and this was the highest proof of his greatness - he knew the common man, felt his problems, followed his fate.

Stalin was not a man of conventional learning; he was much more than that: he was a man who thought deeply, read understandingly and listened to wisdom, no matter whence it came. He was attacked and slandered as few men of power have been; yet he seldom lost his courtesy and balance; nor did he let attack drive him from his convictions nor induce him to surrender positions which he knew were correct. As one of the despised minorities of man, he first set Russia on the road to conquer race prejudice and make one nation out of its 140 groups without destroying their individuality.

THESE ARE THE HEROES OF THE LEFT!

“$29,975 for Grades 6 - 8”

This exclusive school charges only 30% more than a DC public school... LOL!

Glenn Beck Reveals Video of Anita Dunn Praising Mao Tse Tung - Video 10/15/09

http://www.freedomslighthouse.com/2009/10/glenn-beck-reveals-video-of-anita-dunn.html

“Here is video of Glenn Beck’s show today where he revealed a video of White House communications director Anita Dunn, who attacked Fox News, praising Mao Tse Tung, calling him “one of my two favorite political philosophers” and saying that Mao Tse Tung is one of “the two people that I turn to most.”

Glenn Beck asked “America, how many radicals is it going to take? How many radicals surrounding our president is it going to take before you understand that when the president says that he wants to transform the country, well he wants to transform it alright.”

I don’t fault a parent for wanting their kids to get a good education, but paying a huge tuition like at this school doesn’t absolve the parent from the responsibility to pay close attention to what their child is being taught. Even at the graduation ceremony, apparently.

It’s pretty easy to set a child’s worldview, since leftist worldview is based on ONE error.

“Man is basically good”.

By extension, “man” is getting better, morally, ethically, and intellectually. From there, you logically progress to “some ‘men’ are more advanced in these areas than others. Just one more small step and you get

“some ‘supermen’ can and should make decisions for the whole of society”.

See how important the biblical view of the nature of man is?
Simply understanding that man is tragically flawed and cannot be trusted with power over other men because of his very nature will blunt the whole leftist worldview.

Check out this find:

Richard Rorty on indoctrination

“It seems to me that the regulative idea that we heirs of the Enlightenment, we Socratists, most frequently use to criticize the conduct of various conversational partners is that of ‘needing education in order to outgrow their primitive fear, hatreds, and superstitions’ . . . It is a concept which I, like most Americans who teach humanities or social science in colleges and universities, invoke when we try to arrange things so that students who enter as bigoted, homophobic, religious fundamentalists will leave college with views more like our own . . .

The fundamentalist parents of our fundamentalist students think that the entire ‘American liberal establishment’ is engaged in a conspiracy. The parents have a point. Their point is that we liberal teachers no more feel in a symmetrical communication situation when we talk with bigots than do kindergarten teachers talking with their students . . .

When we American college teachers encounter religious fundamentalists, we do not consider the possibility of reformulating our own practices of justification so as to give more weight to the authority of the Christian scriptures. Instead, we do our best to convince these students of the benefits of secularization.
We assign first-person accounts of growing up homosexual to our homophobic students for the same reasons that German schoolteachers in the postwar period assigned The Diary of Anne Frank. . .
You have to be educated in order to be . . . a participant in our conversation . . .
So we are going to go right on trying to discredit you in the eyes of your children, trying to strip your fundamentalist religious community of dignity, trying to make your views seem silly rather than discussable.
We are not so inclusivist as to tolerate intolerance such as yours . . . I don’t see anything herrschaftsfrei [domination free] about my handling of my fundamentalist students.
Rather, I think those students are lucky to find themselves under the benevolent Herrschaft [domination] of people like me, and to have escaped the grip of their frightening, vicious, dangerous parents . . .
I am just as provincial and contextualist as the Nazi teachers who made their students read Der Stürmer; the only difference is that I serve a better cause.”

-‘Universality and Truth,’ in Robert B. Brandom (ed.), Rorty and his Critics (Oxford: Blackwell, 2000), pp. 21-2.

I watched the vido. Those were some powerful words. But in today's America, Glenn is the crazy one and Dunn is considered normal.

These poor unfortunates are tormented by guilt as a result of their “white privilage.” They have a great solution. Don’t stop paying thirty grand a year for your white brat to go to school. Tax working class workers, white and black, to pay for more government programs.
