RNC wades into New York special election [backs RINO with massive funds]
The Hill, Washington, DC ^ | 2009-10-16 | Reid Wilson

The Republican National Committee is making its first large financial commitment to the party's candidate in a New York special election, fighting back criticism that the party has allowed Democrats to jump to an early lead.

The RNC will give $85,000 to the coordinated campaign efforts, the maximum allowed by federal law. And the RNC will give the New York state Republican Party what a source described as a six-figure transfer in order to run more advertising on behalf of Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava (R).

Meanwhile, the RNC has sent two paid staffers to help Scozzafava's campaign, and it has committed to fully funding the party's victory program, aimed at increasing turnout in the Nov. 3 special election.

The problem occurred long before this transfer of funds. The die is cast. The Republican candidate is a RINO. The furor raised by this thread should have happened during the nomination process.

Splitting non-Dem votes between a RINO and a conservative who cannot win is pointless. Why are there so many people here who want to shoot themselves in the foot?

It is silly to expect the national Republican leadership to support the Conservative Party candidate! Go ahead and complain that the Republicans selected a RINO. I agree that it is frustrating. Would this district be able to elect a conservative in a general election? The fact that a RINO got the nomination suggests not. I know that in my district a RINO need not apply.

Daily Kos says she, the GOP candidate, is more liberal than the Dem and other candidate!

You can have your voice heard loud and clear on November 3 by donating to David Harmer for Congress. We are having a special election on November 3 to replace Ellen Tauscher who took a position in the State Dept. David Harmer is no RINO. You can find out more about him or donate to him at

http://www.harmerforcongress.com

Getting a conservative elected in Nancy Pelosi’s backyard will send a crystal clear message to the RINO’s about what to expect in the 2010 election.

Time to crank up the phone call machine.

We have an enemy in our own camp--the RNC. We'll make no headway until we drive the moles out of the party aparatus.

Supporting Hoffman may be the way to go, but don't try to sell me this Kos crap that the Democrat is more conservative than a RINO. How many time are we going to get fooled by that nonsense.

The enemies were the local county chairs who gave this RINO the nomination probably based on her husbands contracting ties.

The RNC did not pick this RINO and all they are doing is supporting the now nominated RINO against a Democrat.

We've got the same thing here in IL with Mark Kirk. He's a RINO, through-and-through; but he's the only possible Republican who can win a statewide senate race right now.

I have given-up having outrage over running RINOs in blue states and blue districts. My outrage now gets focused on RINO-backing by the RNC in red states and red districts (see: Senate races in NE, FL, Coburn’s Senate run, Graham in South Carolina, etc.)

I mean, I can understand the need to nominate a Mike Castle, or a Mark Kirk, or a Whitman; but I don't have any understanding for siding with RINOs in primaries where a more conservative candidate could win in the general (Florida, for example).

However, I think it is becoming a very unseemly habit of our modern GOP -— that is, taking sides in GOP PRIMARIES.

No, it's not "Kos crap."

The Republican Party does not have a monopoly on conservative ideas.

Now, generally, but NOT always, RINOs are more conservative than Democrats. Case in point: Bob Conley (D) vs. Lindsey Graham (RINO) last November.

The problem with RINOs is that their actions are largely unpredictable, except for the near certainty that they will, at some point, most likely when conservatives need them most, turn around and stab conservatives. Case in point: who let out Sotomayor? Graham. Who let out Obamacare? Snowe. Who threw the election to Obama? McCain and Romney. Who voted for Porkulus? Specter, Snowe, and Collins. Who destroyed an entire state (California)? Schwarzenegger. Who endorsed Van Jones? Whitman. Who backed a big bailout for fat cat NY bankers? Bush.

Wow! A voice of reason! So many on this thread will only accept black and white results and don’t understand that politics is similar to making sausages; i.e, you have to do a lot of “holding your nose” while you cook.

This is the reason they are called the Stupid Party. The pissed away nearly a decade with a congressional majority in the House and Senate, with several years under a Republican president and all the managed to do was expand government and make us deeper in debt by acting like effing DEMOCRATS!

And then they stand around scratching their asses wondering why the people wouldn’t vote for them.

The Republican Party has about 6 months to transform themselves into a party of Conservatives. If they don’t, the 2010 elections may be a disaster, no matter how fed up people are with Obama. Didn’t they see the 9/12 March on DC?

Time for American Independent Party people to get together with Constitution Party and New York’s Conservative party, collect the authentic Americanists our of the GOP and make a new real party.

Back in 2006 and 2008, principled conservatives were saying that the Republican party needed to be punished, shaken up, and all the RINOs kicked out. The result of all that is what we have now. Fat lot of good all that house cleaning did us.

As Denver radio host, Mike Rosen, is fond of saying, "Party trumps person." I honestly wish that wasn't true, but it is. When enough people with Ds behind their name, even conservative Ds, get elected, it is the Democrat party that gets the majorities in committees, the chairmanships, the political power. It is people like Pelosi and Reid that get in charge, and they also bring in all the coalitions that make up that party including abortionists, ACORN, SEIU, teacher's union, greenies, George Soros, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton,... along with them. It also emables all the Marxists, Maoists, Communists, Socialists, and assorted thugs and crackpots in the Obama administration.

The cold, cruel fact of political life is any RINO is better than any conservative Democrat.

Please, send Hoffman a donation. I wish we would get behind him as strongly as we got behind Joe Wilson last month.

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” democRat.

There are also 17 RINOs in the house who have donated funds to this Liberal democRat's campaign. They include Boehner and Cantor. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These RINOs should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year.

Your "Conservative" Democrat goes to DC and elects Nancy Pelosie Speaker or Harry Reid Senate Majority leader.

Your "Liberal" Republican goes to DC and Makes Eric Cantor Speaker and Jim Demint Majority leader.

Curious why you spend all your time, 100% of it, propagandizing here for the Democrat Party?
