Add Noam Chomsky to the growing list of people using the Nazi analogy lately. Speaking to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, he alluded to right-wing media as “substantive content — crazy content, but it does give answers,” and warned that if Americans weren’t properly educated about what was really happening to them, they could be in for a repeat of the Nazi takeover of Germany in the 1930s.
Chomsky, an influential linguist and liberal activist, did give himself some wiggle room — he prefaced his comments by saying “I don’t want to press the analogy too hard,” and later repeated that the analogy wasn’t a perfect one. But it was provocative stuff, and veered into Godwin’s Law territory. Chomsky singled out Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage as dealers of dangerous rhetoric, but he didn’t call out any cablers by name, although they seemed to be swept up in his critique of right-wing media:..............

Whenever I see the name Noam Chomsky, I think of Woody Allen’s short story, “The Whore of MENSA”. When discussing options with the “madame”, he asks, “Suppose I wanted Noam Chomsky explained to me by two girls?”
Given the source I think he misspoke.
Obviously what he meant to warn his audience of was that if they aren't vigilant they won't be successful in their repeating the Nazi takeover of Germany.
This is nothing new, folks. The left has ALWAYS compared the ‘right’ to the Nazi’s. It’s part of their narrative. In the UK....anything that the left considers ‘oppressive’ is considered ‘fascist’.

After watching a lot of the Military Channel, The Military History Channel, The History Channel and The Discovery Channel and many programs and documentaries about WWII and Hitler, I fing a lot of parallels between Hitler and Obama as far as the slavish cult like worship of a single man like Hitler as a savior and solution to all the problems. One man, Hitler was responsible for the total destruction of Germany and the death of over 50 million people.
One man, Hitler destroyed what was once a great country with his narcissistic ego and hubris.
I know Michael Medved doesn’t like the comparison, but I think the slavish worship of Obama reminds me of pre war Germany. They thought one guy was going to solve all their problems, and I think many people here feel the same way about Obama.
Only Hitler, evil as he was, was smarter than Obama.

The article at your link mentions this high school Social Awareness club which invited Chomsky to speak. Do you know anything about this? Are these social awareness clubs sponsored by someone like Acorn? Are they in many high schools? Specifically I keep thinking about Anita Dunn giving her “Mao/Mother Teresa are my heroes” speech at a high school. I wonder how she ended up as a speaker, who invited her, etc. Some looking under the layers could bring more roaches scurrying out yet again.
That kind of garbage is to be expected of a red-diaper baby like Chomsky. What most people don’t realize is the close ties between socialism/”progressivism”, fascism, and Nazism. And not just because Nazi stands for national socialist. They both have the same ends... that is a desire to control society. Progressives, as lovers of the all powerful state, are far closer to Nazis than real classical liberals aka modern conservatives who are at the opposite end of the political spectrum. When thinking “progressive” think Nazi/socialist/fascist. All three are close cousins. Read Jonah Goldberg’s excellent “Liberal Fascism” for a better explanation.
