The "Homecoming Queen" at a traditionally black US university has sent a letter to President Barack Obama, complaining that her win had been questioned on campus because she is white.
"It would be much easier to say that possibly some were not accepting of the news because I wasn't the most qualified contestant; however, the true reason for the disapproval was because of the color of my skin. I am not African American," the nursing student wrote to the president.
She asked the president for help, suggesting that he visit Hampton University to convince students to "stop focusing so much on the color of my skin and doubting my abilities to represent, but rather be proud of the changes our nation is making towards accepting diversity.
"I am hoping that you can assist me in opening some closed minds," Churchill said.
That brought a raft of reactions, including from students at Hampton University who said race had nothing to do with their disgruntlement at Churchill's election.

This is a good example of the law of unintended consequences. It’s also a great example of the principle of reciprocity in action. When the race card frequently gets played without strong justification, stuff like this is what will begin to happen.
At least she made it to college before realizing that the only accepted form of racism is black racism.
They should stop while they are ahead. The more they try to explain why they think she is unfit, the more they sound like it IS about her skin color. jmo
I think its because black women resent that black men often prefer the white women and that is why there is disapproval of the white woman winning the beauty queen contest.

not just ‘security’ type comm. damn near every comm. where one person is depicted to look like a stupid damn gomer idiot, it is the white male being portrayed as such and the black as the knowing smart person schooling whitey. those commercials are legion now. I keep a boycott list of those advertisers. the fact that so many such comm. are aired with zero out cry or offense just shows how well the MSM’s campaign to put down the white race has succeeded.
She is certainly beautiful, however as I under stand it
she is Hawaiian which while makeing her American doesn’t
necessarily make her “white” what ever that is.
Congratulations to the students at Hampton who elected a white woman. I have often thought that blacks would eventually turn out to be extremely fair in positions of power, because they suffered injustice and inequality for so long. That they would understand prejudice on a deep level and reject identity politics. Unfortunately, our president often sounds as if he is speaking to his black constituents only. These young people, however, are proving my hopes not unfounded.
Well, someone voted for her. Probably all the guys on campus.
