FlashBack 2006: Are the Bush Tax Cuts Working?[1.4 million Jobs the Nine Months After August 2003]

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2364667/posts

GDP Growth

The real annual GDP growth rate increased from 0.3 percent in 2001 to 2.5 percent in 2002. In the third quarter of 2003, GDP grew at a 7.2 percent annual rate.

1.4 million jobs were added in the nine months after August 2003 (the 2003 tax cuts were signed into law in late May 2003).

The unemployment rate remained steady at 5.6 percent in May 2004, well below its peak of 6.3 percent a year ago.

The job growth statistics are particularly noteworthy because of greater-than-expected increases in productivity levels-high rates of productivity tend to mean less employment:

Productivity grew at a 4.6-percent annual rate in the first quarter of 2004, continuing the trend of large gains in productivity since 2001 due to investments in equipment and technology.

Higher productivity increases incomes and keeps inflation in check. Furthermore, unemployment claims are at their lowest since the 2001 recession.

The high rates of job growth matched with high rates of productivity point to the overall strength of the economy.

Thanks for the ping list and the thread AB your efforts every week are greatly appreciated!

Just when you think the guest list on the Sunday shows can't get any more biased or weak...it does.

Especially FNC.

It's a tragedy that Chris Wallace can't be replaced by someone really fair and balanced like Bill Sammon. When will they get it? We can't stand Chris Wallace!

Now here’s where the Democrat Congress ruins the GDP after they take Majorities January 3, 2007;

110th United States Congress

between January 3, 2007, and January 3, 2009, during the last two years of the second term of President George W. Bush. It was composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers

GDP - real growth rate:

2.8% (2006 est.)

2% (2007 est.)

No, they do not get invited. The Left wing, propagandist driveby news media are very careful about who they invite onto these shows. It’s very carefully planned and orchestrated.

That is why you rarely see “Fire Brand” type conservatives, but rather the same old RINOs if they have Republicans at all. Last week they had McCain and Lindsey Graham on for about the 6th consecutive week. We really complained about that here.

Lo and behold! No McCain nor Graham. The driveby’s do opposition research by monitoring this thread.

So, as the thread poster, I say to the staff of This Week, Face The Nation, and Meet The Press: “Screw you! You lying bunch of not journalists but Leftist propagandists! You wouldn’t know a real journalist if one bit you in your phat butt!”

Two threads really worth reading on FR.
The first is from Winston Churchill and explains that zero and his handlers are really national socialists. It’s very well done.It’s here.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2364841/posts

The next is a thread done by Jeff Head,a truly great American, IMHO, telling of an alliance of FR with the effort to restore the Constitution. It’s here.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2364670/posts

Both are really worthwhile threads.

You Can't Soak the Rich[No Matter the Tax Rate, Tax Revenues Remained about 19.5% of the GDP]

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2361496/posts

The chart nearby, updating the evidence to 2007, confirms Hauser's Law. The federal tax "yield" (revenues divided by GDP) has remained close to 19.5%, even as the top tax bracket was brought down from 91% to the present 35%. This is what scientists call an "independence theorem," and it cuts the Gordian Knot of tax policy debate.

The data show that the tax yield has been independent of marginal tax rates over this period, but tax revenue is directly proportional to GDP. So if we want to increase tax revenue, we need to increase GDP.

What happens if we instead raise tax rates? Economists of all persuasions accept that a tax rate hike will reduce GDP, in which case Hauser's Law says it will also lower tax revenue. That's a highly inconvenient truth for redistributive tax policy, and it flies in the face of deeply felt beliefs about social justice.

Yep, pay attention to the GDP;

Tax Revenues do Correlate with the GDP

Backtracking a bit....

That’s a very interesting chart. I’m not sure about the green bars, though. I really do not see the economy picking up anytime soon. Every business has to look at the massive federal debt and wonder, “Are they going to raise my taxes to pay this off (very likey) or are they just going to start printing money in vast quantities, bringing rampant, if not hyper inflation (very likely)?”

Answer: Yes and yes. We are SO screwed! Thank you democrats and American Idol type voters!

The green bars are the rosy forecast for the Obama Stimulus bill;

Harvard Economics Professor Calls Stimulus “Terrible Piece of Legislation”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2364811/posts

“What they call tax reductions in this bill are really transfer payments, particularly redistribution of income from the rich to the poor,” says Barro. “I don’t think it’s really attractive to do something in a temporary fashion. You want to have a more stable tax structure.”

Barro points to the 2003 tax cut legislation as being very positive for economic growth, and chides the current administration for blaming those policies for the current economic downturn.

“The economy did very well for the next several years after the tax cuts of 2003. And it’s very unfair that Obama has blamed that program for part of the current financial collapse,” Barro argues. “There’s really no linkage between the tax rate cutting program of 2003 and the financial and housing collapse we’ve seen in recent months.”

Worse than unfair, Obama is doing the opposite which should have the opposite affect on the economy.

In other words, things are going to get worse. Your charts certainly suggest so.

Last week Boone Pickens revealed some little chats he had with the adm. on natural gas.

Pickens told top adm. officals and others,I forget where I heard all this but I did,that if the US were to replace every 18 wheeler as they are retired with new vehicles that burn natural gas which we have plenty of and its cheap, we could stop importing zillions of barrels of oil from terrorist countries.

One official, I believe it was Rhambo, replied to Pickens, "OH it just can't be that simple."

It's pretty common knowledge that to stimulate the economy you do it through small business, the engine that creates most new jobs.

Zero has done nothing but go the other way introducing cap and tax and obamcare both of which will cost small business even more or their scarce capital while the economy and margins shrink.

All this is part of the National Socialist plan to collapse the U.S.We are merely unwilling players if not pawns.
