What this economic debacle represents more than anything else is the total abdication of our elected officials in both parties to the ruling moneyed elite and to its political agenda.

I don't disagree with you except that I think that the pressure was on the banks from the left first, so the banks then put their best and brightest to work figuring out how to make a profit regardless. That's where all the exotic debt-packaging instruments came from. Of course it turned out that you can't profit from debt so everything crumbled after awhile.

But that's just my own theory and could be proven wrong. I'm just interested in (someday) understanding just what happened.

expose just who and why billions of dollars were withdrawn from the banking system of this country within a couple of hours besides, “computers”

This is a big mystery and needs to be solved I absolutely agree.
