Dressed in blue jeans and wearing a large parka, ski cap and sun glasses, I spent almost 20 minutes early this afternoon mingling among approximately two-dozen people being paid, according to a union source not at the rally, $11 an hour by St. Louis-area union bosses to wave pre-printed signs in support of President Barack Obama’s so-called “health care reform plan.”

In this video, I share clips from my one-on-one interviews with some of those union members as well as with several of the people across the street — more than 200 anti-socialism, anti-ObamaCare patriots who gathered at the intersection of Highways K and N in O’Fallon, Mo., for the weekly rally organized by K-N-Patriots.org.

Organizing for America plans to bombard Congress with 100,000 calls demanding health reform next Tuesday Oct 20. From the email:

After months of negotiations, the health reform debate is about to move to the full Congress for the first time. With the insurance industry lobby pulling out all the stops to derail progress, we need everyone who supports reform to weigh in. So here's the plan: Set a new OFA record by getting 100,000 calls to Congress placed or committed to on a single day.

On Tuesday, October 20th, OFA volunteers will gather at "Time to Deliver" call parties and neighborhood outreach events across the country. We'll get together in living rooms and public locations, and reach out to friendly voters whose voices are particularly critical in this debate. We'll talk to them about the President's plan and then we'll ask them to call on their representatives to support reform.

I see this here in Indianapolis also.
The pre-printed signs and t-shirts (in warm weather) are a give-away that it’s SEIU and associates.

Unfortunately local media (who are union members too, right?) never bother to probe the underlying story and just report it as a demonstration in favor of health care “reform”.

The difference between liberals and conservatives:

THE MOONBAT ANTIWAR PROTEST OF 3/17/2007

THE CONSERVATIVE MARCH ON WASHINGTON 9/12/2009

Or get some folks together to strike, claiming $11/hr isn’t a “living wage” (or whatever they cry about).

Apparently, that’s the only way the opposition can get it’s alledged supporters to do anything is pay them.

I crashed a Harry Reid health forum attended by SEIU, teachers unions and culinary unions.

They also had manufactured signs there.
But, you could not bring in a sign but inside they were handing out homemade signs in favor of Health care and asking if you would like to hold it.

Also when I protested Al Gore and Harry Reid at a Global Warming conference the people on the other side had manufactured signs and were hired from Craig’s list at $11.00 and hour.

Or get some counter protest signs that say something like:

Protest pay for $11/hr
Want a raise?
WalMart is paying $12/hr down the road

It would be a good thing for us to overwhelm them with calls AGAINST reform on one day. Maybe someone is already organizing that? We could do it on the same day, Tuesday, but that might swamp the whole comm system.

The MSM will never report the unions and Dems faking these demonstrations and call-ins. The only thing that will get our voices heard is to call directly to the lawmakers and say, "I am your constituent and I DON'T want this reform to pass, and if you vote for it, we will vote you OUT."

BTW, a phone call, even to a staffer, is more effective than an email or an online contact form. Just call your reps and senators and tell them you live in their district and you don't want the reform bill to pass. Tell them why. It will be recorded and tallied. If they get 100 calls for reform and 200 against, it will be recorded and tallied. Congress critters are looking to take the position that gets them reelected.

Thanks...it was, to me, the most striking thing. At the 9/12 March on Washington, there were no two signs alike.

At the antiwar protest, it was hard to find a homemade sign...

Do you recommend we call their local office, or the D.C. office? Which do they pay attention to more?

It probably doesn’t matter, but if they’re in DC for the vote, call the DC office. They will call their offices and ask what kind of calls they are getting. If the answer is more for “no”, then they have good reason to vote “no”. Almost all the Republicans will vote “no” anyway. Maybe they have the cartilagenous beginning of a spine. If you happen to have Democratic congress critters, it is much more valuable if you overwhelm them with “no”. They have to see a substantial majority of “no” to buck against the Party. Bottom line; they want to be reelected.
