Senior Obama administration officials took to the airwaves Sunday to accuse Fox News of pushing a particular point of view, one week after the administration fired its initial salvo to try to isolate the news network by accusing it of being a GOP mouthpiece.
"A lot of their news programming, it's really not news. It's pushing a point of view," senior adviser David Axelrod said on ABC's "This Week."
"The way we -- the president looks at it and we look at it, is, it is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective," White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel added on CNN's "State of the Union."
The open assault on Fox News began last weekend when White House Communications Director Anita Dunn accused the network of being a "wing of the Republican Party."
"What I think is fair to say about Fox -- and certainly it's the way we view it -- is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party," Dunn said on CNN. "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."
Despite calls to the White House this week, the administration did not offer a guest for this weekend's "Fox News Sunday" to talk about Dunn's comments, although administration officials appeared on all four Sunday morning shows to speak on various issues.
President Obama has had interviews with all of the other Sunday talk shows except "Fox News Sunday," including a whirlwind weekend in late September where he appeared on all other Sunday talk shows.

Keep "isolating" - FREAKS!
LOLOL........as someone said on CNN
Obama can talk to Amadamnutjob but not to Chris Wallace.
The rest of America watches FNC so they can get the facts.
These people actually believe they can say and do anything!
**The open assault on Fox News began last weekend **
And RATINGS KEEP RISING.. MORONS!!!
HEIL FUHRER OBAMA
Hussein is desperate to keep from having the lid pulled off his casket of corruption.
**The rest of America watches FNC so they can get the facts.**
And to make matters worse.. for Newspaper coverage.. We need to go to the “UK GUARDIAN” or the “CANADA FREE PRESS”
HEIL FUHRER OBAMA
This is their dumbest strategy yet. But consistent with the amateur hour that has been going on all year.
After the drubbing on health care watch for the Obama administration to began efforts to muzzle Fox News and talk radio with some type of Fairness or Diversity regulations.
Obama will not condemn the killers of Neda and other brave Iranians but will name Americans as enemies. Sick.
OK, lets assume for the sake of argument she is right, and that Fox News is just a thinly disguised shill for the GOP, and that CNN is a real objective news organization.
Then the interesting question becomes why Fox News kicks CNN's ass in ratings...are they saying that Americans actually prefer shallow Republican propaganda over real news?
Will just one reporter ask Obama if any dissent is tolerable by his administration?
They are setting the table. Establishing the grounds that Fox is not "a part of the news media," therefore does not enjoy the same First Amendment and other protections that the "news media" have.
Watch out for the real attack down the road. These cancerous tumors have begun a stategy to push Fox off the air.
I should probably just say nothing (when your enemy is hurting himself, let him,) but there’s just about zero chance the enemy will take heed: The White House cannot isolate Fox News, but they can isolate themselves. And their attempts to isolate Fox News can have no other effect than alienating the vast American majority from the White House. The audience shares of the various networks make that point beyond any reasonable dispute.
Boy, the way this is going to end is nothing like the White House thinks.
Is it hurting Fox’s ratings? Personally, I don’t want to hear the liberal propagandists anyway. Let them babble for liberal lost causes on the other networks. They aren’t going to change any minds that way.
Each one would say "I knew it they hated you then you were the group for me."
Same thing is happening to Fox News, but on a much larger scale.
Thanks for identifying your polar opposite, White House. People really are listening to you.
Personally, I don’t see why Fox is all upset over this. It just pushes the other networks to the left and further establishes that Foxnews is the only network that can be trusted. And I can’t believe it’s hurting their ratings. Personally, I turn off Fox every time I see them interview an Administration official. They just make my blood boil.
What is the first thing you do when someone tells you not to look?
