Crude-oil futures rose Monday for an eighth straight session, ending at a new one-year high near $80 a barrel as a weaker dollar and rising U.S. stocks stirred more bullish sentiment among energy traders.
Crude for November delivery gained $1.08, or 1.4%, to $79.61 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange,

It’s not the price of a barrel of oil going up but rather the value of the dollar going down.

I know you fall on the more liberal side of things but at this point it’s the MSM and Obama regime that are sitting on your side of the fence.
Food, gas, energy, health care, and everything else will go up under the Rats. It may be too late to save what is left of this country.
The dollar was also low in the summer of 2008 when oil was at $147.00. However, what we need in order to get our domestic oil industry going is a stable oil price of oil at $100.00.
Until then, it does not pay to drill in the USA.
I have been buying a particular brand of kit for my Canon printer for a couple of years now. The kit which does 108 prints has sold for $29.95 for as long as I’ve been buying them. I’m on my third printer that uses them. I will go through one at almost every event I shoot. Suddenly, the price has gone to $34.95. That’s an 18 percent rise in a single step. Same for the Sony supplies I buy. I was paying $79 for a kit that does 400 prints, went in to order some the other day and the kit was $104.
It’s not just gas and food that are going up.
Dang. Why didn’t I buy oil?
Seriously, if gas shoots back up to 4.50 or 5 bucks a gallon again, I don’t know how our tattered economy is going to make it. How many things can we pile on top of us before it all collapses? We got housing problems, bank problems, employment problems, the federal reserve appears to be a bunch of crooks, obama is trying to ruin healthcare and shove cap&tax down our throats. Now oil is shooting up.
When oil shoots up, so does everything else. can we drill for oil now??
The American economy runs on cheap food and cheap energy.
Most turd world countries are force to savage for both because of the liberal policies in place in their countries. Heck Obama’s half brother lives in a cardboard box. And what’s left is taken by malaria.
Yep, it ripples through the economy, as the price of food and energy hits everybody and all businesses.
Actually, the dollar is doing around the same as it was in July of 2008.
Higher energy equals slower economy, equals weaker dollar, and this socialist pig fest goes on.
IMO, low oil prices are the only reason that hyperinflation hasn’t already begun. If it hits $100/barrel, things are going to get ugly.

Prices around here have sky rocketed by about 27 cents the past week.
Gas 2.50 a gallon, Obama still sitting on drilling offshore, closing land to drilling, closing coal fields, still no nukes being built. Food prices rising, checked meat cost lately — Obama cut water to California farms raising vegetable prices.
And last but not least, O-dumb-boy thinks you are stupid enough to believe the global warming hoax so he can raise taxes on your guilt.
Open your eyes, see the facts.
O-dumb-boy can only ride the blame Bush wave so long .... the ride is over.
