Interesting, this guy sent a lot (in my world) of campaign donations to (R) candidates in past election cycles.

Don't know what it means, if anything at all, with this sting arrest; but makes me go "hmmmmm."

For whatever reason they targeted him, he bit, so it doesn't matter.

Should also have noted I read a handful of other articles before posting this one, and they all seem to focus on his “agreement” to “spy”. If that’s all there is, you could well be right that there’s reason to go “hmmmmm”. I have to assume he did something, passed documents, received funds, some actual violation.
