Maricopa County (Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio—hailed by many as America’s Sheriff—is under attack for cracking down on illegal aliens. The liberal-left politicians, activists and members of the news media are vilifying Sheriff Arpaio for his department’s immigration and crime sweeps in and around Phoenix.
On Friday, government officials with the Homeland Security and Justice Departments stated that the veteran lawman’s deputies could no longer make arrests based on a person’s immigration status. However, during an interview on Fox News Channel’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” Sheriff Arpaio told viewers that he and his deputies would continue to enforce the law and pointed to Arizona state laws that he would enforce...

If a one-issue Presidency were needed, I’d pick anti-abortion as the issue.
Joe is just fine where he is, thank you very much.
If it gets really bad and ugly Obama will simply add some $250 benefit into some stimulus bill somewhere and the feable masses out there will be happy- i.e. senior citizens (After being told medicare will get cut), veterans (After being told defense will be cut), etc. Obama knows that all he has to do is offer the “masses” some bread and games.
After they remove Joe Arpaio they could offer the little meaningless folk clinging to their guns and bibles some money to appease them. Maybe a library, or some new roads in a “shovel ready” project? I'm not saying this is corrupt (though legal) or anything. I'm also not saying that most people would sell their souls for a $250 check, no way, that's not America!

This Man needs to be vigorously supported by the people if the Feds try to come down on him. He is doing the job his local community voted him in to do. It’s no business of the Federal Government.
Hopefully a few sheriffs will learn from him how much authority they have.
The illegales are a more serious nuisance in Phoenix than many other places. I’m hearing something like an average of one kidnapping a day (even though it is mostly intranecine). I cannot blame the people of Arizona for wanting that gone.
Well actually the Federal Government should be doing what he’s doing.

Not only that but he is doing the Federal Government’s job too. If the Feds would build the stinkin Fence and control the border, Joe wouldn’t have to arrest so many illegals.

I don’t see Arpaio as necessarily tied to one issue. Illegal immigration is the “very bad guy” standing in front of him, so he’s working to bring this bad guy down or chase him/it out of “Dodge,” but I think he’ll enforce any laws he discovers being broken. Dunno about presidency: a mean thing to do to an honest man....

check out our earlier conversation on DOJ officials pretending to be reporters at Joe’s Friday presser. They REFUSED TO SHOW THEIR ID TO A SHERIFF COMMANDER. Finally, the possibly corrupt DOJ attorney on the “racial profiling” case against Joe, admitted they were all DOJ officials.

Do the illegals commit a lot of crime? Did the 0’bama DOJ just say ‘’p-ss on the victims?’’ YEP!!!
They do commit a disproportionate amount of crime though no where near the blacks but more than twice that of whites. Of course Obama’s not concerned about that.
