House Democrats Lock GOP Out of Committee Room A bitter divide over Countrywide mortgage scandal. By JAMES FREEMAN
Democratic staff for the House oversight committee informed their GOP counterparts today that the majority has changed the locks on the committee's hearing room. While Republicans previously enjoyed their own key to the room, they will now have to request access from Democrats. This followed a bitter partisan argument in which Republicans refused to take down a video from their website that contradicted Dem explanations about a closed-door meeting on the Countrywide VIP loan scandal.
As we reported last week, the committee was scheduled to meet on Thursday to mark up several minor pieces of legislation. Days before the meeting, California Republican Darrell Issa notified committee Chairman Edolphus Towns that Mr. Issa would call for a vote to subpoena Countrywide documents from Bank of America, which bought the failed subprime lender last year. Recall that, under the "Friends of Angelo" program, named for former Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo, Democratic Senators Chris Dodd and Kent Conrad received sweetheart deals on home mortgages. Mr. Issa wants to uncover the full story on Countrywide's effort to influence Washington policy makers.

The Democrats are the biggest bunch of babies I have EVER seen! More and more Americans are catching on to them since they own the whole ball of wax now. I would not be surprised to see them lose 100 seats in the House next years. I make sure I tell every person I meet that I can squeeze into my conversation, that the Democrats ARE the problem. Come voting day next year, they may remember. The chickens are coming home to roost!

I think so...but you’re right, you can’t tell the felons without a scorecard...
Just another day, another foul that we are putting up with.

Agreed. Even when we throw out the Dems the Republicans that take their place are wimps or RINOs. So few good people left in public service.

Does everyone remember how the Dems wailed back when Republicans led by Newt won the congress? They screamed like the spoiled brats they are, as to how the republicans have to share the power.
I have always felt that the Republicans share too much .
George Bush hung on to, too many Clinton hold-overs. most if not all of whom stabbed George Bush in the back first chance they had, and worked tirelessly to undermine everything he attempted.
If the republicans manage to take back congress or at least one house they need to remember how they are currently being treated by the dumbocrat party.

I don’t see RNC doing anything but promoting RINO (or worse) candidates in the media...you can’t tell me that if the Repubs went to the hill with sledge hammers and said enough is enough they wouldn’t get a round of applause from EVERYONE but the 30% of America that lives in leftist never never land...

Excuse me? The Democrats don’t OWN the Capitol Building; they have no right to change ANYTHING with regard to the physical plant, to the detriment of the opposing party.
