Glenn Beck Warns Of OnStar Technology
Joe Seales ^ | 10-22-09 | Joe Seales

Audio From Glenn Beck's Radio Program (Aired LIVE 10.22.09)- Did you know OnStar has the ability to shut off your engine, deflate your tires and listen to what you are saying inside your car?? It's true. They never used to use this technology, though it has been available- but now that the government is running GM, apparently they have decided to go ahead with it..Did we miss that press release? At the very least, it should concern you..with this kind of technology in the wrong hands..

I didn’t know about the tire deflation but GM cars have run commercials advertising the fact that they can disable your vehicl if it gets stolen. That’s not news to me. Listening in on your conversations....that’s just creepy but it doesn’t suprise me.

my car has dummy lights that tell me if my tires are low or flat.

My car has a system that makes it go "Thumpa-thumpa-thumpa" if a tire goes flat.

I would also imagine that Glenn has more to worry with regards to his personal security and privacy than the average citizen.

fix a flat will also ruin the wireless tire pressure sensor requiring an expensive replacement.

I just push a button on my key chain and not only does the car unlock itself, it opens the door for me. It’s so easy...my 5yr old does it. lol The keypads are convenient but they are ugly. Sorry. :(

Well, I hope they like listening to Rush & hearing me swear about how the government is screwing us peons. I love my HHR (which I bought a year ago) but don’t think I would buy from another Government owned auto company & I’m from a GM family from Flint, Michigan.

Hi AC.....just thinking that the government and many state politicians....Secret Service....FBI all drive Suburbans, probably with On-Star installed.

Obama’s people would be very interested in whatever the opposition political party or his/her protection detail is talking about.

I know that at least some semis can add air to tires while they are running with on-board compressors.

If we ignore the little things while we pay attention to only the little things we will find out suddenly that the little things have have become Big Things and have overwhelmed us.

You understand that Big Brother can follow your car location because of the tire pressure transponders?

Had a weird experience. Bought new tires recently. The next day a worried salesman told me I had to come back in for a “recall” issue. When I got there he was relieved to see that they had installed the new, GOVERNMENT REQUIRED valves that transmit tire pressure.

Did Congress sneak this into law? Each valve transmits a unique code. With enough large antennas and a big computer the guvmint can know where you are, if you are speeding, who you visited, etc.

Do you trust the current Maladministration to NOT violate the law and abuse citizens? If Clinton could burn down Mount Carmel, what will this new, more radical group do?

I bet you are correct. BTW it would appear you and were more right than we were wrong about how marxist this administration would be.. no one wanted to believe us this time last year.

There are sensors that monitor tire pressure. I have Onstar that was included on my 2006 Saturn. I keep a subscription because it makes my spouse more comfortable. I have a long commute. I get a monthly status report and on that report it tells me if any of my tires are below nominal pressure. Don’t know if they can deflate but they can monitor.

Still fascinating to see it unfold however. Scary.

They do stick out that's for sure. The new Lincoln MKS really improves on it though. The buttons only illuminate when you glide your finger over them:
