DULUTH, Minn. - A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk.
A criminal complaint said 62-year-old Dennis LeRoy Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.
Prosecutors say Anderson's blood alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the legal limit, when he crashed into a parked vehicle in August 2008. He was not seriously injured.

Point 29 after 8 or 9 beers? Is that even possible?

That was my thinking.
I mean, if 9 beers pushes a .29, then 3 beers would put you over the .08 limit.

“I met a girl just this week who got a DWI in her motorized wheelchair.”
That alone is proof enough that the DWI laws are nothing but revenue enhancement tools.

This DWI Stuff for riding a bicycle or wheelchair is obscene, it is an abuse of the law. DWI is to stop the drunk from killing someone. (Not themselves, but people driving in other cars or walking along the street.) This DWI MADD Crap is out of hand, if you can’t kill anyone with it easily then you shouldn’t get the charges. Like drunk and riding a horse. The HORSE isn’t drunk. A wheelchair? Cmon! This is an abusive use of the law.
