WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama has declared swine flu a "national emergency," the White House said Saturday, as the United States reels from millions of cases of infection and over 1,000 deaths.

From CNN’s White House correspondent.

Emergency Declaration will:

Grant waivers to hospitals

Allows federal government to help states move around ventilators etc.

NOT in response to the current numbers but is a proactive decision, in case things should get worse.

Let the crackdown begin! This whole swine flu farce is another excuse to impulse more socialism. The head of the WHO, Margaret Chan, stated at a forum in Cancun in July that the overwhelming majority of patients experienced mild symptoms and made a full recovery within a week, often in the absence of any form of medical treatment.

BO's a freaking traitor to this country!!

Well, then, from now on, every flu deaths or any unexplained deaths could be blamed on swine flu by MSM until Zero gets his health bill.

No kidding. That's exactly what he did before. As long as the Republican senators held up the confirmation of Kathleen Sebelius, Killer Tiller's bosom body and abortionist extraordinaire, just about the last person in the world we need as Secretary of Health and Welfare, the Republicans were held responsible for the whole Mexican swine flu crisis. And the media eagerly joined the hunt. Republicans are stonewalling in the face of the Swine Flu threat!

When they saw the headlines blaming them for the flu epidemic, they caved in about three minutes, and rushed the confirmation through by a large margin, 65-31.

If as TigerLikesRooster questioned, this is used to ban public gatherings (tea parties), instead of due to an actual emergency... action should be taken... especially since no action was taken all this time (as broadcast), and the experts came out saying it didn’t act like they thought re: spread and was a milder form.

Back to tangent.

First off, timeline of the movement of pharma vaccine makers leaving the US, due to legal, environmental cases... which left us with one firm (hence extending the wait, as well as testing differences, FDA process/proofs given from firms, reasons for delay whether on their side or ours).

Remember also, at the start we were told this or that person died as a result of ‘other health conditions’, not solely this flu. We need those stories as well.

Documentation of defenses or medical checks re: travel done while it went up the chart to the pandemic level.

We also need a map of states/cities that went mandatory.

Stories of universities, schools where quar. was used (either in dorm room, or homes), and recoveries.

Also incidents at the pharma firms (and accidents), re: timelines, etc.

The notice from the firms re: multi-use and nasal content of live virus vs. other firms single-use packaged syringes.

Contents re: amounts of thimerisol/mercury remaining at end of process, list of possible side effects and the fact testing wasn’t done by most on the group they had more deaths (at the beginning, youth to 20 something), vs. pregnant women and the reversal (Florida, other states), reasoning on not giving the elderly the vaccine in that state (vs. others).

No Wiki links please. There are many timelines that have ‘interests’, but there has to be some that don’t.

Best to have coverage in case of adverse effects or unwarranted gov’t actions to look back on.

Tin foil hat off/

“I live in Sarasota, FL. Doctors here are being instructed (don’t know by what org’n) to report all flu cases as H1N1 cases. There has to be some flim-flammery going on with that.”

*** Fox just had some “former secretary” on and he said this emergency would allow the POTUS to call out the National Guard if it was necessary to control the public if there is panic. I find that most interesting. ***

Yes. 'Interesting' to say the least and is one way to put it.

Another way to put it is, 'Lock & Load' and 'Molon Labe'. I have a bad feeling that Rahm is thinking this is his 'Reichstag Fire'.

I will bet that if there is actually an increase in the number of autism and autism spectrum disorder cases in excess of the number that would be revealed by increased screening or by looser definitions, it would codistribute geographically and temporally with the increase in childhood allergies and asthma, with increasing affluence (relative to typical living conditions over the past several centuries), and would be another manifestation of having too light an antigen challenge to the immature immune system. In other words, the more people start living in aseptic, dust-free environments, the more effed-up a growing percentage of the population will be.

It actually might be you who is stupid. I warned of the Mexican Flu months ago and suggested a complete shutdown of the US border with Mexico among other things. Nothing was done, and we had a jackass President preside over it and make it worse. Now look what we have.

Unbelievable Facts - Strange Facts - Life or Death

A Matter of Life or Death

On average, 100 people choke to death every year on ball-point pens. And beware of toothpicks. They are the objects most often choked on by Americans.

You are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a poisonous spider.

The odds of being killed by space debris are one in five billion.

You are more likely to be killed by a donkey than in a plane crash.

200 people a year die in avalanches.

A total of 55,700 Americans are injured each year by jewellery.

About 1000 people commit suicide on any one day.

Not only that, but I have been reading many firsthand reports at FR where a diagnosis of swine flu is being made -— WITHOUT testing.

How is swine flu to be distinguished from any garden-variety flu without testing?

This flu hit all my kids and closed their schools starting Wed. This had my daughters down and out for 2 days. On day three they were texting again. NO BIG DEAL. Per our Doctor flu shots will not be in our area for 3 weeks. This will be over by then. Government Health care.

This will prompt several states to invoke there own emergency powers to force people to get swine flu shots. It is based on the The Model State Emergency Health Powers Act. Read more from the link below.
