WASHINGTON (AP) — A Senate plan to tackle global warming would add about $100 a year to the energy costs for a typical household, according to an analysis by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The analysis released late Friday by the office of Sen. Barbara Boxer, who heads the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, generally mirrors the cost projected by the EPA when it examined similar legislation that the House passed in the summer.

The Democratic bill calls for cutting greenhouse gases from power plants and large industrial facilities by shifting energy use away from fossil fuels, especially coal. It would cap emissions and allow trading of pollution allowances to mitigate the cost.BS

Lying liars who lie just to be lying.

It's probably more like 100 bucks a Month, or worse.

Other stiudies have put the amount much higher with it being anywhere from $600 a year to over a $1000 depending on where you live.

Imagine that.

100 bucks?
Multiply by 10, it’s more like $1000,
and everything we buy besides household energy will be more expensive too. Cap and Tax will bring the US economy to an abrupt halt.

The EPA has been pushing global warming for years. The only thing this guarantees is that the cost is more than $$100 per person.

I believe the true estimate is around $1700 a year for the average homeowner, according to Heritage. And that's just to start.

well, they could care less, facts don't count, the cost would be outrageous,to change a basic industry-electricity production away from coal is going to destroy companies, not just coal companies, all the equipment and supporting industries, tens of thousands of jobs directly and many more indirectly, towns would be decimated, local and state governments and even the federal government will lose billions in taxes and royalties-but the whole thing is a socialist farce, the death nell for America, they are trying their best to defeat the USA we believe in-where will production get it's energy?what will we do when electricity in China & India is so much cheaper and more reliable than here? it's endless and maybe pointless to try to nit-pick every facet of our demise, this bunch of lying, ruthless ,America hating fruitcakes are never going to tell the truth about anything. Basically we will not be a utopian bunch of elitists ,buying all we need from others, without basic industries .Unless we have a miracle in 2010,we will never make it to 2012,we will wilt away-they have no intention of ever getting out of power,as any socialist dictatorship,.All their efforts so far, have been to weaken us and strengthen our enemies and they will keep doing that till our pocketbooks or our will is broken.

I don’t care what the source is, when I see easily digestible numbers like $100 my BS alarm goes full tilt. Some other examples: provide 5 million job; 20,000 hospitalized; 1 trillion; 1 in 4 (when it’s really 22% or closer to 1 in 5); yada yada.

While politics is the art of precise imprecision, nice even numbers always indicate both convenient guess work, statistical fibbing and/or out-and-out lying. The Dems had their “47 million uninsured” number to sound precise but then Odumbo went and lowered it to 30 million during his Joint Congress speech when he was trying to shoot down the issue of illegal immigrant coverage.

$100? WOW!! This is great news. This means I can send any increases over $100 to the EPA and they’ll pay it....right?
