Stealth Jihad: An Interview With Robert Spencer

Is “moderate” Islam even possible?

Anything is possible. But “moderate” Islam as an Islamic theological and legal construct does not now exist, and would need to be invented. Can it be done? The record of history shows that it is never wise to say that something could never happen. But as it would involve the overturning or wholesale reevaluation of the fonts of Islamic authority that have existed since virtually the beginning of Islam, it is extremely unlikely.

Will American Muslims one day have to choose? Not at all. Those who want Sharia in the United States have no problem professing love for their country. It is their love for America that makes them want to bring what they consider to be the law of God here.

Honestly, like people in other religions, there are Muslims who are far from fervent. These don’t seem to be infected with the Jihadist fever. I think the professionals that emigrated here in the 50s-80s fell into this category for the most part. The problem is that the Mullahs eventually migrated too and started enforcing their dictates. Otherwise, I think many of the other would have been perfectly happy to kiss Islam goodbye.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD/Front Groups in the United States

*Having established its leadership, the Memorandum states the role of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America:*

· *The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.*

*Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet.

It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is not escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be equal.*

Islamic Society of North America in 1981

American Muslim Council in 1990

Muslim American Society in 1992

International Institute of Islamic Thought in the 1980s

CSID - Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy - 1998

CAIR in 1994

CAIR, was created by Hamas supporters in 1994 following a secret meeting in Philadelphia that the FBI wiretapped.

Exhibits in the Hamas fundraising trial of the Holy Land Foundation showed that CAIR’s founders were part of the secret Muslim Brotherhood infrastructure that sought, in the MB’s own words, to carry out a “civilization-jihadist process” and to implement a “grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within …”

AMT - American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections

The American Muslim Taskforce would be more accurately described as the Muslim Brotherhood since many of the ten 10 signatories — ranging from the parent organization of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) to the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) to the Muslim Students Association to the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) — have been identified in an internal Muslim Brotherhood strategy memo as “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”
