I can’t speak for Gibbs, but I know that where I live, with respect to this vaccine, risk = risk of death from H1N1 flu. So, a child with asthma, epilepsy, cardiac problem is considered at high risk. Also very young children. So, only those children might be able to get the H1N1 vaccine. I know a lot of people were begging for it here and couldn’t procure it for their children. I can’t say whether Obama offspring would be vaccine-eligible.

Actually, I think Muslims have some strange thing about vaccines. Anybody know more about this? I recall reading somewhere that one of the problems with getting vaccines into the Muslim world (of which Barry is obviously a part) is that they object to something about the whole concept.

A friend who is associated with the local department of health says that they only have about a thousand doses and they're not allowed to give any of them out. They're just sitting in the refrigerator.

If H1N1 really is as dangerous as they'd like us to believe, and if it really merits a national emergency, then why haven't they been vaccinated? Something stinks here, worse than obama's economic policy, worse than his foreign policy... Who in the obama family has been vaccinated? Which ones of his trusted inner circle and/or their family members? No-one? Why not?

I believe H1N1 is no-where near the problem obama and the legacy media would like us to believe. I think they are using it as anther manufactured crisis they can take advantage of. Headlines: H1N1 deaths reach 1,000 for the year! Oh no! ... Um, wait a second... We're at the end of October here, roughly 80% through the year and we have 1,000 deaths. But regular seasonal flu regularly claims 20,000 lives a year in the US. So we could expect maybe 1250 H1N1 deaths this year, bringing our average flu deaths up a whopping 6%...yawn.

I believe there is a non-zero chance there may be something funny with the H1N1 vaccine. I'm usually not a tin-foil-hat conspiracy guy but... It does seem odd that obama and the media are making such a mountain out of the H1N1 mole-hill. And yet, if this is such a terrible threat, they're not taking action to protect their own families? Something is rotten here.

The poor little dears - flying around the world at better than first class, every opportunity offered to them and at this 'emergency' time, the vaccine is not available to them.

That's not what they are telling everyone in Cashiers, North Carolina!

If you are in the age group you get the shot or the inhaler.

500 doses are due here shortly. They will be given at the Community Center after 5:00PM so that a family member doesn't have to take off work or the kids miss school to get the inoculation.

I've not hear anything about how you determine a kids chronic medical condition. I know kids who don't know they have ashma until they collapse or if they are getting measles until you see the red spots. Cases of mumps are being reported in the NE among this age group.

Disagree. Who out there filled out a form for their kids at school? We did. That means at some point they get the vaccine. In the article, it says, THEY ARE NOT GETTING THE VACCINE. Translation, they are OPTING OUT. No special conditions, etc.

Measles and mumps are not chronic conditions.
As for asthma, if you don’t know you have it, then you aren’t considered to be at high risk for H1N1 death. As I said, where I am the vaccine is scarcer than hen’s teeth. People who want it for their children cannot get it, even with risk factors. I haven’t heard of anyone being forced to get this for their children.
