Various Examples of When a Long Form Birth Certificate is Required
10/26/2009 | Jay099

Posted on 10/26/2009 3:42:44 AM PDT by jay099

Here is a list of government and civilian websites that require a long form birth certificate.

1.) Snyder County, PA requires a long form birth certificate to obtain a US passport for anyone 15 years of age or younger:

"Even with a previous passport - a LONG form birth certificate is required..."

http://www.snydercounty.org/snyder/cwp/view.asp?a=730&Q=408544

2.) In the state of Massachusetts, a long form birth certificate is required to obtain a passport:

"A long form birth certificate is required for obtaining a passport and for travel outside the country."

http://www.dighton-ma.gov/Public_Documents/DightonMA_Clerk/clerk?textPage=1

3.) Once again, the state of Massachusetts requires a long for birth certificate for "proof of citizenship":

"If you were born in the United States, then a LONG FORM birth certificate is required – the long form must be certified with a raised seal (no photocopies)."

http://www.cityofmelrose.org/departments/assessing.htm

4.) In the state of Massachusetts, a long long for birth certificate is required in certain adoption cases:

"However, if grandchild is a dependent of a dependent under age 19, copy of grandchild’s certified (Long Form) birth certificate is required."

http://www.townofmarshfield.org/public_documents/MarshfieldMA_HR/PCHG%20Rules.pdf

5.) In Laredo, Texas a long for birth certificate is required for passport or immigration purposes:

"The long form Birth Certificate is required for PASSPORT or IMMIGRATION purposes."

http://www.laredotexas.gov/health/Birth%20-%20Death%20Application%20Final%20English%20%20Spanish%20Revised%20January%202009.pdf

6.) Presenting a short form birth certificate to obtain health insurance at IMS Health is "not acceptable":

"Photocopy of dependent's birth certificate. Must be a complete birth certificate which includes both parents' names; short form birth certificate is not acceptable."

http://staging.dakotagrp.com/3756_IMS_enrollment_guide_web/enroll/

7.) The only type of birth certificate that is acceptable by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is a long form birth certificate.

"The only type of birth certificate acceptable for travel is a birth certificate long form."

"A short form certification or birth card (cannot be used for travel)."

http://www.scdhec.gov/administration/vr/birth.htm

8.) And last of all, to play little league in San Dimas, California, you must present a (yep, you guessed it) long form birth certificate. An abstract, like Obama's COLB, is "not acceptable".

"Supply a certified birth record and proof of residence. Abstract birth certificate is Not acceptable."

http://www.leaguelineup.com/sdlittleleague/files/Registration%20Flyer%202008.pdf

So, if a short form birth certificate is not sufficient evidence of citizenship in any of these cases, then why would it be sufficient to be President of the United States?

I don’t follow your logic. It’s not about what people would or would not hold against him. He has his life in lockdown mode. That’s either right or it isn’t. I say it isn’t.

What’s not? What may be on his BC that you dont know about? Maybe his dad is not on it? That’s not right?

It’s not just the BC, but a lifetime of other records dealing with school, college applications, etc., etc. Someone on another thread has posted a list of some 20 categories of documents that are either access refused or “lost” or otherwise unavailable for some strange reason. Was he born in the US? He says he was, but won’t share his documentation. (A so-called Certification of Live Birth, COLB for short, a recent computer printout, was seen on a website, but no one knows where it came from and some say it’s a fabrication. It has no information about birth hospital or attending physician.) Did he have and use foreign citizenship at various times during his adult life for benefits such as financial aid in college? We don’t know that either. Did he travel on a foreign passport? When and how did he change his name from Barry Soetoro to BHO? On and on it goes. We have a mystery man in the White House who won’t share details about his past. And this doesn’t bother you?

Hawaii changed the format in 2001. Those few months have become a few years.

“Hawaii changed the format in 2001. Those few months have become a few years.”

They changed the FORMAT of the birth certificate printout, but it wasn’t until THIS year that the long form was ‘unavailable’.

It was just in January that the DHHL REQUIRED the long form to get the benefits of being of Hawaiian heritage. Too bad I didn’t screen capture the website because I remember going back to my bookmark a few months ago to find that not only is the ‘long form’ no longer required by the DHHL, it’s no longer AVAILABLE.

Coincedence?

P.S. I’m sure others here remember as well, not only was it specific about requiring the long form, it said to make sure you allot enough time to obtain it because it took several weeks to month to get it from the state. You couldn’t just walk into any county office and get a printout (like the one Obama put on his website).

Has BHO ever held a US passport?

I believe the State Department issues passports to ALL senators. Maybe he ran for the Senate (and served just long enough) simply to get a US passport?

Love your tagline, it's the antithesis of the last of mine...

If you need to apply for a security clearance where I work in Texas, you must bring in the short one (my was issued by the State of Texas and looks very similar to the Hawaii certificate), not “the long thing from the hospital with the foot prints on it”.

What may be on his BC that you dont know about? Maybe his dad is not on it? That’s not right?

We know a very few things:

The CoLB that his campaign released is a forgery.

Someone risked jail time to forge this document.

It takes all of half an hour on the 'net, and about $25-$40 to have a legitimate certified copy of your own BC delivered within a week.

Therefore, I conclude that there must be some compelling reason to falsify his BC.

The compelling reason that comes to mind is that the real document would kick him out of the running for being the most powerful man on earth.

From this I conclude that his true documentation shows one or more of the following truths:

• He was not born in the United States, and is therefore constitutionally unqualified for the job. This is a show stopper. There is no way to "fix" this or inoculate himself against this, or win over voters on this issue. It is the premier campaign killer issue.

Therefore, I regard this as the most probable explanation for the deceit.

All the other possible reasons are much lower grade:

• His BC shows that he's a bastard. Although this might be personally embarrassing, nobody cares, a goodly fraction of the electorate is in the same boat, or closely related to someone who is.
• His birth name isn't Barak Hussein Obama. So what? We already know his his name changed when he was adopted in Indonesia. People can and do change their names, it isn't a crime, or even particularly shady.
The only question it really raises is why did he chose a muslim name? That's rather easy to explain away - he took his genetic father's name. Who can argue with that? Especially when muslim names had some popularity among blacks who didn't know just how deeply involved muslims were in the slave trade.
• His real birth certificate lists his race as something other than "African". This would be more of a problem. His whole campaign is founded on his being "the first black president" come January. Still not lethal to the campaign, but it would be awkward to 'splain away.

• There is something else embarrassing on his official BC.

Like what?
There could be nothing conceivably embarrassing about:

His time of birth
His birthday
His city of birth
His county of birth
His island of birth
His religion (Religion is not even listed!)
His mother's race
The date it was filed

A few things could be a slightly embarrassing:

The serial number? Maybe? Suppose it's really 151-1961-000666? Nope. It turned out to be 151-1961-010641

His father's name wasn't listed. Not terribly unlikely if he and Stanley Ann split up before he was born. No one cares.

His mother's maiden name. Suppose she really did use her Anna Toot drinkin' ID to get married? Would that really suffice as a reason for someone to risk jail time by falsifying his documents? More to the point, would it disqualify Barak? I don't think so. If anything it could be played for the sympathy vote, young naïve Stanley Ann trying to do her best in covering up the mistakes of her youth. Mother's maiden name listed as Anna Toot? Yawn.

That leaves the big enchilada:
His birth name. Was it really the noble and exotic Barak Hussein Obama II?

Or was it Mortimer Snerdly Toot, hmmmm?

Live that one down!

One other possibility, but it's so odd I hesitate to mention it:

Approximately 1% of live births are hermaphroditic to a noticeable degree. Perhaps his birth certificate lists him as a girl. (That would explain his pitching, and if Larry Sinclair is to be believed, his catching style)...

So someone could call DHHL and ask for copy of their BC and specify if they wanted the long version or the short version?

That thing from the hospital with the foot print was never considered the official Birth Certificate In fact the hospitals don't even give you those anymore.

The only reference I could find to this is as follows:

When we spoke to a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Department of Health, she said too much was being made of the difference between the so-called “long” and “short” forms.

“They’re just words,” said spokeswoman Janice Okubo. “That (what was posted on the Internet) is considered a birth certificate from the state of Hawaii.”

“”There’s only one form of birth certificate,” she said, and it’s been the same since the 1980s. Birth certificates evolve over the decades, she said, and there are no doubt differences between the way birth certificates looked when Obama was born and now.

“When you request a birth certificate, the one you get looks exactly like the one posted on his site,” she said. “That’s the birth certificate.””

No, DHHL required the ‘long form’ in order to apply for their benefits. They (the applicant) had to contact the state human resources dept for that required long form birth certificate.

DHHL is the Dept of Hawaiian Homelands and is the office that helps native Hawaiians become property owners. In order to qualify for this benefit, you had to prove you were Hawaiian by heritage (think Native Americans and requirements for reservation benefits). Until a few months back, they did not accept the print out form as Obama put on his website as proof of Hawaiian heritage and required the ‘long form’ giving place of birth, parents name and birthplace, etc... Well, the DHR of Hawaii decided to scrap even offering the long form (and I don’t know any other state to do so!) so the DHHL had to change their requirements as Hawaiians obviously couldn’t get what wasn’t offered any longer.

I hope I am making sense.

I remember reading some time back when the Governor of Hawaii sealed his BC it was stated that it would be VERY EMBARRASING if it got out.

Your statement above is the only thing that I can think of that would be very embarrassing.
