Is that a rug sitting on his head?

Based on what I know, Gary Johnson was a good Governor. He might be unacceptable to some portions GOP. His skpetical view of the War on Drugs will be controversial.

“Yes, yes, we know, you picked the wrong week to give up crack cocain.”

Wow. Now that’s a really ironclad argument. Were you by any chance a Fred Head.

From Wikipedia:

In the April 20, 2009 edition of The American Conservative Magazine, Bill Kauffman told readers to "keep an eye out" for a Johnson presidential campaign in 2012, reporting that Johnson had told him that "he was keeping his options open for 2012" and that "he may take a shot at the Republican presidential nomination in 2012 as an antiwar, anti-Fed, pro-personal liberties, slash-government-spending candidate—in other words, a Ron Paul libertarian".

If he run as a Republican, it is still to be seen whether he can win over the Republicans in primaries. If he run as 3rd party candidate, I will not support him. I cannot support any anti-war president.

He’s quite well off from what I understand and has been busy doing a lot of extreme sports like climbing Mt. Everest. I’m a little surprised he’s ready to take time off from his retirement to run for Prez.

I wasn’t in NM when he was guv, sadly I came just in time for King Bill so I don’t know much about his term here. I can say yes, he was for decriminalizing drugs and I am pretty sure he was pro-abortion. I pinged NM FReepers, someone will know much more than I do I’m sure!

He is more of a Libertarian or Liberal than a Republican.

You are correct about the libertarian comment. You are incorrect on the liberal comment, unless you mean a Jeffersonian liberal.

You’d rather give the election to someone like Zer0 than vote? I’d rather have had McCain than Zer0.

At least McCain would have given reinforcements to our troops in Afghanistan already. I also don’t think we’d be staring down the barrel of the public option with Juan in the White House. Although filling out the ballot for him did kill me I voted because I was frightened of what would happen to our country if he didn’t win....

It is pretty brash of you to assume that Sarah Palin will be running as a Republican.

She’s not the one that lost to McCain. She’s the one who won more votes for McCain/Palin.

Hmmm... solid fiscal conservative cred... pro-marijuana... Is he pro-life? Ron Paul has voted against laws banning smuggling other people’s children across state lines to obtain abortions, even though that is precisely the sort of issue that the commerce clause was created for, and he claims to be “pro-life,” so libertarians always get me a little nervous about denying even the legitimate functions of a national government.

Looking at Presidential polls this far out is not a valid science. The polls to start watching are those after the 2010 elections. Rasmussen polls are only trying to make sure that no viable Conservative seems...well, viable.

Sarah is an infinitely likeable candidate, but I’m waiting to hear her positions. I’m willing to suspend judgment, figuring she couldn’t exactly buck McCain, but she still hasn’t stated any disagreements with his policies to my knowledge. If she’s another free-spending, open-borders “new Republican,” I have to sadly say, “No thanks.”

He endorsed Ron Paul...no vote from me.

Ron Paul was right.

I am so sorry you personally consider our troops in battle war criminals for using armored vehicles.

Because that comes with Ron Paul and to be okay with him, you are saying you personally are okay with that.

You may choose to be, but if you do I will rightly ridicule and oppose you just as I do Ron Paul.

“He didn’t really want the job, said so on more than one occasion. Gave his platform and gave the American people the choice … if you agree with my platform, elect me, if not, I will go fishing.

Palin has never indicated her desire to run for POTUS, she is biding her time until the American people are really ready to dump Obama, then she will make her position known. As I said, she is bidding her time.”

FDT probably didn’t want the job. However many Freepers insisted there was no way he could lose. In the face of poor polling and a not very urgent campaign the Fred Heads were absolutly sure he would be the next POTUS.
I’m seeing the same kind of thing now with Palins hardcore followers. Sarah hasn’t even said she wants the nomination, but there’s already Freepers declaring that there’s no way she can lose.
Right at the moment it’s the same as FDT. I don’t really want the job, but if you pick me I guess I’ll run.
