Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?

Did you think that another "czar" would be talking about restricting talk radio? That there would be plans afloat to subsidize newspapers-- that is, to create a situation where some newspapers' survival would depend on the government liking what they publish?

We all know the story about the frog in the pot of water. I've been told that, in fact, a frog will jump out as the temperature of the water increases, and will not really be boiled alive.

I'm thinking frogs must be smarter than the average American voter. Because we're in a lot of hot water right now, and I don't see nearly enough people who are noticing what's been going on.

Actually, in answer to his opening question, it was obvious what Obama intended to do. But the media successfully covered it up, and Juan McCain refused to address it.

So, we got what America was conned into voting for.
