Palin now much more popular than Biden among independents.
Gallup ^

PRINCETON, NJ -- After peaking at 59% last November, Vice President Joe Biden's favorable rating continues to decline and now stands at 42%. That barely exceeds his 40% unfavorable rating, and is easily his worst evaluation since last year's Democratic National Convention.

Independents' opinions of Biden have declined more steadily since the post-election high mark, and now 32% of independents view the vice president favorably.

Everyone knows how much the media wants to tell us that Srah Palin is so poloarizing and how she turns off independents and is poison to the party and all of that.

Well, Gallup just has a poll out that shows overall that Biden and Palin are basically equal in popularity. Biden is at 42% favorable and Palin is at 40%.

More interestingly, among independents, Palin is almost 30% MORE popular than Biden at 41% compared ot only 32% favorable for Biden.

And that is after Palin has been the subject of a year long assault by the entire media, resigned, and everything else associated with her. Meanwhile Biden has been part of the 2nd coming and gotten nothing but positive press. His #s among Is have declined from 55 after the election to 32 now, a drop of nearly 50%. Maybe he's been listening to Tom Petty's "FreeFallin" on his IPOD.

I wonder if wew'll start seeing stories about how polarizing and toxic Biden is.

I’d love for Palin to be POTUS and just kick some butt worldwide.

Biden is the epitome of a “buffoon”. He has to rank among the worst VP’s ever.

It took twenty years out of office for Walter Mondale to get as forgotten as Biden is while still serving.

It’s obvious obama will have to give the VP spot to hillary next election— probably a contingent plan from way back.

Biden isn’t worthy to lick the ground where Sarah’s high heals have stepped.

Why is this such a key question? The two will never run against each other and the election is three years away. Dick Cheaney was worse in the polls than John Edwards was but that didn’t mean either was in great shape for a general.

I’ll say with 100% certainty that Joe could never win. The jury is still out on Palin though. She will fire up a large segment of the base but friendly fire and liberal attacks hurt her a lot. She’ll still have to win over the moderates, the country club set, enough RINOs, and some Reagan dems to win unless the country is an absolute disaster by then. She’ll also have to first win a primary which isn’t as easy as many caught in the echo chamber seem to think.

“Joe Biden’s favorable rating continues to decline.”

I wonder how his numbers stake up against Al Gore’s,another Enstein VP?

Gee, Slow Joe’s smart alec remarks aren’t endearing him to independents? Maybe he’d do better if he copied off Barry’s paper.

What makes me mad is, they’re finally realizing what we saw before the election.

Well, I posted it because the media keeps running all these stories and talking about how Sarah tunrs off independents and is polarizing. Now it will be interesting to see if they report that Biden turns off more independents and is more polarizing. I doubt it.

I also doubt that it’s reallly a reflection on Biden personally. It’s more a reflection that unemployment has jumped by 30% and more than 4 million have lost their job. Just as the deline in her popularity during thye campaign wasn’t about her as much as it was that the market lost 30% and unemployment surged. Obama has also lost popularity among independents at a similar rate to Biden, but he started out higher so he looks better.

It shows that all this talk about her losing independents is just that. Independents will vote based on the economy. If it stinks in 2012 like it did last yr, they’ll vote for her or any other Republican just like they voted for Obama or any other democrat last year.

Newsweak had a cover on Biden, the editors attempting to fellate him in public without the censors noticing. It raises a question-- what stake do the media whores have in pumping up Biden? He is the political equivalent to Balloon Boy.

Maybe her increasing popularity among independents ia a result of more and more Republicans (like myself) switching over to Independent. Just speculating...

I’d prefer she kicked butt right there in DC, like she did in the Alaska government.

Kick out all the entrenched bureaucracy, graft, corruption, and elitism.

If we're going to compare Sarah Palin with an unpopular option, let's go all the way:

Palin v. H1N1 flu

Palin v. socialized medicine

Palin v. Obama (once people realize that we're as close as we'll ever be to facing the anti-Christ, other than the real thing that is)

Assuming Obama staves off impeachment.

The chance of BHO getting impeached by a Reid and Pelosi led congress is zero. The chance that enough RINOs and Dems would join in in the event of a Republican victory in 2010 to take him out is only a bit above zero.
