An email received today:

“First let me state that I’ve been a fan of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for many years and, even though Larry David is a liberal, I generally enjoy the writing and Larry’s antics. However, this time what I saw made me feel a little sick, extremely disappointed and a bit angry as well. I will never watch the show again as I have lost all respect and feelings of good will for Mr. David.

“Did you happen to see the episode to which I refer? Assuming you did not catch the episode, briefly stated: Larry pisses on the face of a painting of Jesus Christ, followed by mocking of Christians who believe the piss drop on the face of Jesus is a tear, thus they’ve witnessed a miracle. I wonder how many other viewers, Christian and non Christian, are similarly shocked and disgusted? Of course, the hypocrisy is that Mr. David would never exhibit such gross contempt for any other religion, especially Islam.

I don't think that Larry David has THAT much talent. As an actor, he is pathetic. Maybe his writing of "Seinfeld" was brilliant but, he lost it at that. Larry David is a "One Hit Wonder" trying, desperately to make a comeback. Racial, political, it doesn't matter. It's all about him. Pretty sad and hypocritical.

I think Larry was making fun of people who see Jesus in pieces of toast and potato chips etc. and put all their faith in THAT instead of in Jesus. I watch reruns of Curb at 9:30 and have thought recently that Larry actually has a Jesus fixation - in an interested kind of way.

Exactly. And that is how I take that kind of "humor" on the show. I like Curb, and will keep watching even though they tend to "offend" me a lot! I get it!

Michael Savage is normally too abrasive for me but I heard him on this today and totally agree with him.

A caller even tried to say that Larry David was trying to be funny. Savage came right back at him with how David was just making fun of Christians AND calling them stupid about believing in miracles!

I haven’t seen Curb Your Enthusiasm in several years—ever since The Sopranos’ last episode. I used to subscribe to HBO just for the Sopranos season, then discontinue it. Now there’s no reason to subscribe. I like the characters on CYT, but the stories are beyond idiotic most of the time. The genius of Seinfeld was that it took common embarrassing situations that no one else ever talked about, and made hilarious shows out of them. On CYT, Larry David creates situations that would never ever happen to anyone and makes embarrassingly unhilarious shows out of them. The plots are so contrived that it’s painful to watch.

We're loyal fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm (even tho we loathe Larry David's politics)..

Larry usually ends up acting like the biggest jerk on the planet with friends and family.

What we enjoy is watching him put his foot in his mouth from the start then witness how he ties together all the unusal situations he gets into..Larry undoubtely ends up looking like the fool.

In the last show, Larry had a urination problem he was treating with pills that made him pee like a race horse..and he'd splatter when he should have had direct aim.

So yes...a single drop of his urine landed on the Jesus picture in a friends bathroom. What ensued was hilarious.

Larry David is a genius...JMHO.

I totally agree I think many here are those who didnt see the episode. It was an accident and wasnt done on purpose. Very similar to those who criticize rush or beck but never listen to them. Get all the facts before people jump all over him. Larry david is an uber lib, and I dont enjoy his politics, but I think the show is overall funny.

My other question is who put a picture of jesus in their bathroom?? The bathroom isnt necessarily a holy place.
