I can read a newspaper.

You'd think that more Texans would, but it appears to me (at least) that most frame their opinions of California through the subliminal hype that's pumped out of Hollywood and Madison Avenue.

I tell folks that the place is nothing like what they see on television or in the movies, and they seem surprised to hear that.

There was a time that their perceptions of California would have been correct, but that time is long gone. I'm just glad for the memories. It was truly a wonderful place at one time.

Funny, that during the "golden age" of California, it was also a red state. It only went to hell when the Democrats and leftists took over.
