Join us Wednesday, October 28th at 7:30 p.m. as Southeast Missouri State University and KMOX welcome Newt Gingrich and Governor Howard Dean for a discussion about health care today.

Tickets are on sale now and are $8 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the Show Me Center Box Office and Ticketmaster outlets. Click here to purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com. Admission is free for university students, staff and faculty with Redhawks ID.

NEWT GINGRICH is well-known as the architect of the “Contract with America” that led the Republican Party to a majority in the U.S. House for the first time in forty years. After he was elected Speaker, he disrupted the status quo by moving power out of Washington and back to the American people.

Widely recognized for his commitment to a better system of health care for all Americans, his leadership helped save Medicare from bankruptcy, prompted FDA reform to help the seriously ill, and initiated a new focus on research, prevention and wellness. The American Diabetes Association awarded him their highest non-medical award and the March of Dimes named him their 1995 Citizen of the Year.

In his book, “Saving Lives and Saving Money,” Gingrich describes his vision of a 21st Century System of Health and Healthcare that is centered on the individual, prevention focused, knowledge intense and innovation rich. In 2003, Gingrich founded The Center for Health Transformation to achieve this goal.

HOWARD DEAN achieved national prominence in his bid for the Democratic nomination for president. He founded Democracy for America in 2004 to build on the groundswell of support and the wave of new energy sweeping the Democratic Party, and he served as the chairman for the Democratic National Committee from 2005 to 2008.

His recognition on the issues related to health care began while serving as the Governor of Vermont. Through his innovative health care plan, 96 percent of Vermont’s children now have health care coverage and more than a third of Vermont’s Medicare recipients receive state help in paying for their prescription drugs. His ‘Success by Six’ program ensures that more resources like day-care and home nurses are available to parents if they need them. And with strong support from Governor Dean, Vermont officials instituted an Interactive Learning Network that wired almost all the state’s high schools, even in the most rural areas.

I would not spend 8 cents to see dog face newt.

He needs to get back to chasing young girls and just go away.

Students and members of the community would do well to save their eight bucks$$$, and put their money down on Sarah’s book. Listening to Newt Dean explain how to move further down, slower or faster is to the brain as eating bull poop is to the stomach.

I would not walk across the street to see or hear either Newt or that other guy, let alone PAY to do so.
