WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. A former cashier for The Home Depot who has been wearing a "One nation under God" button on his work apron for more than a year has been fired, he says because of the religious reference. The company claims that expressing such personal beliefs is simply not allowed.
"I've worn it for well over a year and I support my country and God," Trevor Keezor said Tuesday. "I was just doing what I think every American should do, just love my country."
The American flag button Keezer wore in the Florida store since March 2008 says "One nation under God, indivisible."

Sounds like we’ll be shopping at Lowe’s for our next project.
Looks like I gotta go to Lowe’s from now on.
Home Depot is, IMHO, one of the leading anti-American companies in this Nation.
Eff ‘em. They don’t get a penny from me anyway.
So, shop at Lowes?
I suppose Home Depot doesn’t take American money for their goods either.
That whole “In God We Trust” thing again.
Home Despots.
I saw this young man on Fox & Friends this morning. I’m disappointed at the lack of outrage and boycott threats over this. It makes me furious!
Bet if he wore a “ChiComs Rule” button....no one would say anything
Either Ace hardware for me or order online anything they don’t carry.
So I guess if you go to HD and an employee is wearing a button that expresses some political or religious thought that you find offensive, you won’t have any problem with it? I think it’s perfectly reasonable for employers to restrict employees who deal with the public from wearing buttons (or whatever) expressing some personal political or religious belief. I’ll be Lowes (and pretty much any retailer you’d care to mention) has a similar policy.
An employer has the right to set a dress code, even if it offends conservatives. We at Free Republic are supporters of the free market. (If they didn’t have that right, just think of the truly offensive things those on the left would wear.)
Ten minutes of hemming and hawing later, I was told that "a lot of their merchandise has been sold out" you see. It's not they never had a single display featuring the Lord God on his birthday, oh no. And I should try the OTHER Home Depot north of there...they really have a better selection.
So, if you absolutely must shop there this Christmas, have a good time...try this at your local store!
Check out AFA’s website and see Home Depot’s gay agenda! They suck anyway...i have not shopped there for YEARS!

I hope he sues the ba$%ards. I see pins and badges all over the aprons of Home Depot employees. Betcha no one has taken the time to review all of them. I’ll be shopping at Lowes from now on.
The right about having a dress code is correct, if it can be proven to apply to EVERYONE. If the code is enforced selectively, then it is not right.
I haven’t been this year, but I have seen lighted nativities at the Home Depot in prior years. I find it a bit hard to believe that it’s sold out before Halloween, but it’s possible. Of course, I don’t know where you are but I’m in the South and it seems like folks are just more accepting of Christianity down here. :-)
Fired them off an e-mail earlier;
First response:
Hello! Thank you for contacting Internet Customer Service for The Home Depot. We have received your email and are working quickly to provide you an answer. You can expect to hear back from us within 1-2 business days. Sincerely,The Home DepotInternet Customer Service
Waiting for the 2nd
Good timing. I had scheduled a stop at Home Depot this evening. Now, I’ll drive a few miles farther and go to Lowe’s.
He wore it for over a year and management said nothing. That makes it “accepted behavior”. He’s got a case.
LOL....that was funny....thanks for sharing.
I think this Home Depot thing is more about political correctness than a dress code
Anyone actually bother to contact Home Depot and let them know what you think of this outrage?
1-800-553-3199
What would be his basis for a lawsuit?
If he can prove that application of the rule is selective.
I did phone, and talked with Darrin Johnson. He is rude and insulting. But I did assure him, Me and my family will no longer shop Home Depot unless they rectify this situation.
I hope they keep that in mind during the Christmas season, and upcoming spring season.
How deep in bed with Obama are they?
I like Home Depot. They always give me 10% off every purchase because I’m active duty military (at least the locations in and around Boston).
Their store, their rules. But yes, you all are free to shope elsewhere.
Im disappointed at the lack of outrage and boycott threats over this. It makes me furious

I’ve been trying to figure it out, too.
We just seem to be wired differently than libtards are.
We don’t have Pavlov-type hysterical reactions to the slightest non-PC utterance. We shrug our shoulders and move on, not wanting to expend a great deal of energy towards intolerant, anti-American jerks.
We quietly stop shopping at a partiular store, but dont waste a day standing out front with pickett signs and bullhorns.
We aren’t programmed to be disruptive. We believe in the free market, and allow everyone their own choice to shop where they please without having the narcissistic need to be boisterous (ie, be an attention ho).
Programmed and wired differently. HOWEVER, as has been said here previously, keep poking a dog with a stick and eventually you’ll get bitten.

By selective you are referring to the model Home Depot employee with “666” tatooed across their forehead, Tatooed Stars on every knuckle and could not take you to the lumber isle if they were standing in it, but they are wearing a smart orange apron with no outrageous buttons or pins. /s
No, by selective I mean aprons WITH buttons on them that could be considered offensive.
It would be pretty easy to prove that others wear different buttons/badges and aren’t bothered about it.
Begs the question. How could ANYONE find that particular buttom controversial?
“How deep in bed with Obama are they?”
dude, this is the “Homo depot”.......they are in bed with Kevin Jennings.....

Funny you should say that....I was in Lowe’s yesterday....saw an employee that looked just like that....tattoos all over his body! Creeped me out. Most people I asked for help were as dumb as a box of rocks. I miss the old time hard ware stores......
just one more reason i shop a Lowes
Got mine today: with an attachment of approved THD pins...
Thank you for your note about our decision to terminate one of our associates for wearing a button that said One Nation, Under God, Indivisible. I wanted to make sure you heard directly from me about why this happened.
Badges, buttons and pins are a big part of our culture. We give away thousands of them a year to our associates to recognize great customer service, store accomplishments, company milestones or to commemorate other things that are important to our communities, like the non-profits we support and our men and women serving in the military. Having said that, with 300,000 associates, we have to have some rules. Rather than getting into store-by-store debates on what topic areas or messages are appropriate or not for folks to wear on their pins and badges, we created a blanket policy — which is long-standing and well communicated to our associates — that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn on our aprons.
In the case youve written to us about, the associate chose to wear a button that expressed his religious belief. The issue isnt whether or not we agree with that belief. Thats not our place to say, which is exactly why we have the blanket policy I noted to avoid having to make such a distinction. He was simply violating our blanket policy, and while we provided him with some other company-approved options for expressing his patriotism, he declined. I hope youd agree that its important for us to consistently enforce this policy across the board.
Finally, you should know that the Home Depot has a long track record of supporting our military men and women, starting with the fact that we equalize pay and benefits for the nearly 1,800 Home Depot associates who are serving in the military through Guard and Reserve programs. We show that support in countless other ways, including providing our associates with pins to wear on their aprons in support of our troops. Ive attached a few photos of those company-provided pins as examples.
I appreciate your input and hope my response provides a bit more insight into the policies that guided our action in this case.
Sincerely,
Frank Blake
Chairman and CEO, The Home Depot
JGR, Toyota & the snot nosed punk Kyle Bush was plenty. LOL!!
If you stopped shopping at every retail store that gets trashed on FR, the only acceptable one left is the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, LOL.
LOL
Everyone who has an axe to grind with a particluar store or product should follow their own conscience and not give that company their money.
This is part of the makeup of cons: the free market, free to purchase from where you want or dont want.
We follow our conscience, but unfortunately, we are dealing with opposing forces who act unconscionably and are wired differently from us.
