Sexual Orientation (sic) would eventually include pedophiles as a privileged protected class. It will occur sooner than you think. I can see the enhanced penalties being used against a person who beats up or kills a pedophile who has made moves against a child.
And Ruth Bader Ginsburg has favored lowering sex ages of consent to 12. And some groups such as North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) freely seek open, allegedly consenting, relations between men and boys.
I think the next barrier to fall could be this concept of an age of consent for sex activity. And if it does, then pedophiles will then have special rights and be a protected class and all that implies.
