Obama unhappy with criticism of his NYC date night

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama says only once since Jan. 20 has White House life annoyed him.

It was the Saturday in May when, trying to be a good husband, he kept a campaign promise to take his wife, Michelle, to New York after the election for one of their "date nights" - dinner and a Broadway play.

Conservative commentators and Republican officials criticized him for doing so.

"People made it into a political issue," Obama told The New York Times Magazine for an article about the Obamas' marriage, appearing in the Nov. 1 issue. The article was posted on the Times' Web site on Wednesday.

"If I weren't president, I would be happy to catch the shuttle with my wife to take her to a Broadway show, as I had promised her during the campaign, and there would be no fuss and no muss and no photographers," he said. "That would please me greatly."

Presidents, however, don't travel by any means other than secure government aircraft or vehicles.

Obama added: "The notion that I just couldn't take my wife out on a date without it being a political issue was not something I was happy with."

The article explores the effects of the presidency on the couple's 17-year union, and revisits well-documented tension between them in earlier years as Obama pursued his political career in Illinois, leaving Mrs. Obama largely home alone in Chicago with their daughters.

Fly the whole damn restuarant and its staff to the white house. Still cheaper than going out!

“If I weren’t president, I would be happy to catch the shuttle with my wife to take her to a Broadway show, as I had promised her during the campaign, and there would be no fuss and no muss and no photographers,” he said. “That would please me greatly.”

If he weren’t president, I’d also be greatly pleased. I imagine Obama looks in the mirror as frequently as possible and asks, “Why’s everybody always pickin’ on me?”

That has been done by many presidents in the past. Seems like a good compromise to me and relieves the SS of a lot of activity.

"flying in pizzas from Chicago"

That's it!

It is one thing to Fly out to NYC on a Date night with your significant other. It is quite another thing to leave NYC without at least making arrangements to have real Pizza from a reputable establishment in New York sent to the White House on a regular basis if DC does not have an acceptable product available.

Is this the hope and change we were waiting for?

Are we going to sit back and stand for this kind of thin skinned behavior from the Administration over criticism of their poor choices in a somewhat under appreciated Italian American Delicacy produced from NYC, the capital of Pizza?

Have you no shame?

Hush and say no more! Being from Chicago and living on their Pizza for a few decades is not an acceptable excuse as far as I am concerned.

Like they know the difference between a good meal and McDonalds anyway. She doesn’t look like she has missed any meals lately!

King Obamessiah and Michael Antoinette are upset because the "little people" and "serfs" dare to question their habitual decadence and personal excesses while America burns.

Their response: "Let them eat CRUMBS!" There is no cake left; Obama and his queen along with their evil minions have eaten it all and still they demand "MORE"! His so-called "highness" is upset because it is ALL ABOUT HIM. He does not care one whit about the suffering masses. It is ALL ABOUT HIM and HIS WANTS and HIS perceived "needs".

I hope and pray the entire democRAT party pays a massive price in the up coming elections for this wicked, evil, ANTI-American, Marxist, communist, socialist and his angry black woman "Queen of hearts".

This photo shows a very unhappy couple, IMO.

He looks drunk or doped up, Michelle just looks mad,not drunk.

Actually, I think it's more like this.

No, that little boy is cute.

I guess even Obummer was once, too, before the creeps in his immediate family helped him develop into a nasty cynic. We'll be sincerely praying for him as throw him out of office, and no kidding about it.

There's a McDonalds somewhere between Tysons Corner and Falls Church though. :D

Is Michelle Obama a Drunk?

I don't know about her---but Ohaha and his minions are clearly on mood-alerting substances.

Notice that no matter what catastrophe befalls them, Ohaha's out on the hustings, grinning and glad-handing dumb Dims.

Sap-happy Gibbs always has some cute riposte to the media, no matter the occasion.

Gotta be a "connection" there. Maybe "La Familia" has a key to the WH back entrance?
