I understand reading the Word and believing what it says, but I don’t have the theological/language/historical education to read and understand the Hebrew in the contemporary context in which it was written,
so such sources are valuable but should be checked against other scripture.

Many parents are AWOL. Where was the security? You got a city that is one of the most crime ridden in the country and you don’t have pre-set police patrols, no school security set up, etc., etc.?
When I was in high school you couldn’t take a step without stumbling on a teacher or parent chaperon volunteer.
The conflict I have with reference to 'society' is ... I'M a member of 'society' and everyone I know is a member as well.

That was Antioch, 20 miles east. Sort of the white trash version of Richmond, although the Antioch/Pittsburg/Bay Point area attracted a lot of lower middle class blacks in the 1990's and 2000's who were trying to get themselves and their kids away from the Oakland/Richmond thug life. Guess what? The kids brought it to the suburbs with them.

The media keeps referring to these monsters as ‘teens’..one is 19, another 21...just hanging out at high school dances where they don’t even go to school.
I say make them do hard labor in Siberia. I know if witnesses do not stop a rape in California, they can be charged. However, it only applies to 14 and under and the victim is 15. Don’t know why it only applies to that. Why not all rape victims.
What is a 21 year old doing in high school?
It says in the article that the thugs didn’t go to the school. This is a common problem with high school dances in urban areas, especially in gang areas. I have a family member who is a police officer (not in CA) who is often hired to work off-duty at dances just to keep these people away.
It’s odd that this school appears to have had so little security, given the nature of Richmond.
