I just saw that this is a duplicate thread. Please remove? Many thanks
Hate crime, shmate crime. How about just putting the perps away for shooting people?
As an Orthodox Jew, I’d agree with that.
I thought hate crimes only happened to homosexuals.
How many hundreds of thousands of Angelinos would that describe. Add in dark skined "Mexicans" and some asians, and of course many of Pakistani heritage can be fairly dark as well.
If it was an "African American" guy, it's probably a Black Muslim. But I'd guess it was not.
And whats with the two being shot *in the legs*?
Or shooting back? That's very often quite effective.
Not a hate crime: the suspect is black.
Hate crimes are only committed by white people who drive pick up trucks and live in the south.

“Two men shot in LA synagogue attack”
By E.B. SOLOMONT, JERUSALEM POST CORRESPONDENT IN NEW YORK
SNIPPET: “Shots rang out around 6:20 a.m., when an unidentified gunman wearing a black hooded sweatshirt entered the underground parking garage at the Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic congregation, opening fire on two victims, police said.
He fired at his first victim, “without any words,” and wounded him in the legs, LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Moore said.
He then turned to a second man, also shooting him in the legs, before fleeing from the garage on foot. The victims were in good condition at separate hospitals.
Early in the day, police brought a 17-year-old black man in for questioning, based on a “loose description” of the shooter, but officials continued to comb the area around the synagogue and later said the investigation was wide open.”
It’s my understanding from other articles I read that the teen has been released.

“Bomb Squad At Wilshire Temple; Synagogues On Alert”
By Dennis Romero in City News, community, crimeThu., Oct. 29 2009 @ 11:54AM
SNIPPET: “About an hour and a half after the 6:30 a.m. shooting at the synagogue parking lot in the 12400 block of Sylvan St. police were called to the historic Wilshire Temple at 3663 Wilshire Blvd. to check out a suspicious package, Los Angeles police Det. Gus Villanueva told the Weekly. The area was blocked off and the bomb squad was called. Investigators are still at the scene.”
The police where all over my daughter’s school today.
Good.
Extra security right now is a good thing.
Also, it seems the shooter is still out there — at least according to all the news sources I could find.

“Detectives have ‘strong leads’ in synagogue shooting
Investigators say the attack was not a hate crime and rule out terrorism in the case.”

SNIPPET: “Wheeler said detectives may also re-interview the two men who were shot during the confrontation Thursday. Maor Ben-Nissan, 37, and Allen Lasry, 38, were each shot in the leg as they arrived for a prayer service about 6:20 a.m.
Several law enforcement sources told The Times that investigators were exploring whether the shooting was related to a business or personal dispute.”
