Brain Dead GOP

What an interesting experience it has been trying to leave comments at the GOP website. http://www.gop.com/ Almost like dealing with the GOP for real, shouting into the wind. Your website allows almost no feedback except to comment on 'Problems with this page?" THIS is the only way to leave Feedback? WTF? Too focused on your own political futures to listen to those who could support you? I joined your website only to express my dismay with your choice of candidate for the NY 23 District. This type of candidate is why I left the Republican party 30 years ago, and became a Conservative. Thanks for validating my perspective of Republicans as the 'Stupid Party'. What the hell are you people thinking? Still trying to be 'Moderate' in a political world of excess? The Democrats may come down crashing in flames, but I doubt your ability to do much better....given the lame candidates you propose and your weak opposition to the destruction of our country. I swear you guys could screw up a 2 car funeral.

I think Rush had it wrong yesterday when he said something to the effect of ‘Independents are going Conservative.’ I think the bigger trend is that Conservatives are going independent.

You left the party 30 years ago which means before Reagan and yet you post a vanity trying to tell the GOP what to do. Sorry but no sale. We needed people 30 years ago to get Reagan elected so anything you have to say now is just making yourself and a few other 3rd party people feel good.

They're coming around to Hoffman only after they couldn't get their apparatchik candidate elected. No - they're not standing on principle.

How many people on this forum believe what Glenn Beck said this evening that a third party could win the Presidency in 2012?

If all Republicans would vote Conservative, instead of telling Conservatives to vote Republican, we wouldn’t be splitting hairs, or the vote...

I enjoy watching Sean Hannity on Fox. While he is a pretty good conservative on most issues it appears, he is also a diehard republican. Case in point: he had John “McShame” on his program the other night.
I thought we were trying to rid the Republican Party of neocons Sean!

My apologies, if your happy with the GOP’s performance.
Wouldn't want to rain on your parade.
Sorry, but even Reagan wasn't Conservative enough for me.
I'm not telling the GOP what to do, I'm questioning their judgement.
Conservatives have ALWAYS been the 3rd party, and the underlying base of BOTH parties.
Trust me, I don't feel good about the situation now, I'm just frustrated that the GOP seems hell bent on compromise, when leadership would be more appropriate.

I hate Sean’s radio and TV programs. He might be a good middle of the road republican, attracting housewives and the squishy middle, and I REALLY appreciate his support of the troops, being that my daughter is an Iraqi Vet, but come on, either you’re for the constitution or not. Newt jumped the shark. McCain jumped the shark, Hannity, don’t jump the shark. We’ll give you a DC cocktail party, bail on these rino’s and get with the conservative movement.

It depends on what happens in 2010. If the Republican party fails to learn from NY23, we you may see a viable third party emerge built on many former Republicans. The time from the formation of the Republican party and the election of Lincoln was very short.

NY23 is a perfect example. The third party, does not have much chance until it reaches a certain critical mass. Once it does, however, all bets are off and one or both of the incumbent parties may implode. This critical mass may be achieved when a significant number of high ranking elected officials switch to, or support the third party candidate.

Your answer makes sense to me. However, the state parties have so much control right now that in some states there could be major problems or roadblocks to get a viable third party on the ballot. Governors weild a lot of power and influence.

I would like to here a discussion on how we could get around these obstacles. I speak from some experience. When a group of Conservatives tried to take over the local Republican Party the Governor made it impossible for us to get control.

From your mouth.

This conservative is enjoying his 11th year as a "non-aligned voter". Should have made the decision sooner to stave off some of the frustrations with the GOP that led me to finally take the bit by the teeth and sever the cord!
