I voted for Barack Obama. I never watch FOX News. I am not a raging conservative.
And I think Keith Olbermann is hurting America.
An uncompromising megaphone of partisan rancor, Olbermann perpetuates the single-mindedness and inflexible partisanship that now roil the country, both on and off Capitol Hill. His rants against former President Bush, former Republican politicians, and shock-media rival Rush Limbaugh contribute little to constructive debate about how we can fix todays true problems. And his soapbox forays in such segments as the Worst Person in the World a daily lambast of often unsavory, but many just politically conservative characters have made Mr. Olbermann the news days political alienator and ire-monger of choice for the partisan left...
The disconnect between parties and politicians encouraged by info-tainers like Olbermann and Beck threatens American productivity and progress, and therefore eventually our respectability as an economic and political leader. His brand of demonizing politics fosters a culture wherein political stalemates are valued over prudent legislation...
And while I wouldnt say that Mr. Olbermann is the root cause of partisan disconnect in America, he is more than just a symptom: he makes it worse.
Granted, his rivals at FOX News drum up discord just as effectively and dangerously as Mr. Olberman. But the President has called time and time again for our countrys leaders to rise above pettiness and assume the mantle of dispassionate, consensus-centric leadership. I agree wholeheartedly that this culture shift is the only means by which we can hope for a return to prosperity, and must acknowledge that any effort counter to that is harmful to America.
Olbermann cheapens discourse. He touts easy solutions. He speaks in truculent soundbites. His invective is hurting America!
Our problems are real. Lets discuss them in a real way.

Mr. George is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Medtronic. He joined Medtronic in 1989 as President and Chief Operating Officer, and was elected Chief Executive Officer in 1991, serving in that capacity through 2001. He was Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 2002. Under his leadership, Medtronic's market capitalization grew from $1.1 billion to $60 billion, averaging 35% a year.
Mr. George currently serves as a director of ExxonMobil and Goldman Sachs, as well as Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, World Economic Forum USA, and Guthrie Theater.
During 2002-2003, Mr. George was Professor of Leadership and Governance at IMD International in Lausanne, Switzerland and Executive-in-Residence at Yale Universitys School of Management. Prior to joining Medtronic, he spent ten years as a senior executive with Honeywell and ten years with Litton Industries, primarily as president of Litton Microwave Cooking. Mr. George received his BSIE with high honors from Georgia Tech, and his MBA with high distinction from Harvard University, where he was a Baker Scholar. He has received a honorary PhD from Georgia Tech and a honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Bryant University. Mr. George was named Executive-of-the-Year by the Academy of Management (2001) and Director-of-the-Year by NACD (2001-02). In 2002 George was selected as one of "The 25 Most Influential Business People of the Last 25 Years" by PBS Nightly News.
Mr. George does not seem to connect Barack Obama with the hate speech of his followers.
Notice that he can’t bear to criticize Olbermann without declaring that Glenn Beck and Rush are equally horrible people. Typical.
Goldman Sachs board member - no wonder this guy voted for Obama.
I never watch FOX News.
Then, how can he say:
Granted, his rivals at FOX News drum up discord just as effectively and dangerously as Mr. Olberman.
That is like saying 'LearnsFromMistakes, and golf-rival Tiger Woods'. Except I really golf.
No true conservative would call Rush Limbaugh a “shock-media rival,” nor would he say that Rush “contribute[s] little to constructive debate.” Sorry. I don’t buy it.
Nice moral equivalency there between the ad hominem-spewing psychotic Olberdork, and Fox's pattern of simply uncovering and reporting facts that the government-media complex refuses to because they are embarrassing to the regime.

Do yourself and your students a favor and quit your job. Go out and get some real world experience! Then, just maybe, you'd see obama for the naive and truly dangerous idiot he is.
He's hurting the three RATS who watch. Should I care?
I bet he wrote that with a straight face too. Mr. zero is anything BUT consensus-centric. He's created the pettiness that exists as his presidency's motto..."Get 'em first, fast, and often - especially if it isn't the truth."
I’ve got two issues. He attempted to pull Rush and Glenn into the dungheap, and for all the typing, he neglected to use the word ‘idiot.’
No fair, Scott is a nice guy.
Plus, I hope Olbermann gets bigger ratings. He puts a frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic face on the leftist agenda. The more people see him and hear what he has to say, the more people are repulsed by him and his opinions. They may watch him for entertainment, but they definitely don't agree with him. Obama/Olbermann 2012.
He voted for Obama and brags about never watching Fox News. I’d say the guy is totally uninformed and not worth reading.
I noticed that too. And where a lot of what he says about Obermonger is true, the funny part of this article was saying he is Rush’s competitor! In his wildest dreams!!
Goldman Sachs is a nest of vipers. As far as Olbermann is concerned,he is providing a service. First, he is a window into the psychotic soul of liberalism. Second, I believe there will be no political solution to the fundamental conflict between freedom and totalitarian marxism in the US, that revolutionary change will be required, and that the country must split. The sooner, the better. Olbermann is helping that happen.
I like this guy's writing organization. I only had to read one line to determine I was not interested in his opinion on anything.
Come on, give Keith his due, he is a complete jerk.
Where's the fun in that?
Somehow I don't see Glen Beck watching MSNBC either.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) was established in 1991 by five members of the United States House of Representatives: Representatives Ron Dellums (D-CA), Lane Evans (D-IL), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Maxine Waters (D-CA), and Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Then-Representative Bernie Sanders was the convener and first. The founding members were concerned about the economic hardship imposed by the deepening recession, the growing inequality brought about by the timidity of the Democratic Party response at the time.
Additional House representatives joined soon, including Major Owens (D-NY), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), David Bonior (D-MI), Bob Filner (D-CA), Barney Frank (D-MA), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Patsy Mink (D-HI), George Miller (D-CA), Pete Stark (D-CA), John Olver (D-MA), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Mr. George cannot seem to connect one brain cell to another.
It doesn’t take much IQ to figure out that Olbermann is a hateful person. It also doesn’t take much IQ to figure out that Rush isn’t a hateful person.
Somebody should gently sit this guy down and inform him that he need not worry about overbite since NOBODY watches him. Sheesh these liberals are stupid!
Just another over educated useful idiots that does not understand Communism is wrong.
Anybody notice how often Queef Olberboy is absent lately? Whether it's due to mental illness or unhappy bosses, I hope his absence becomes permanent. Maybe his ratings collapse has put him in a straight jacket.
